Try to hold tournament on Fridays if possible. Gives people from all of northern California a chance to come down and play. Maybe we’ll see people from modesto/fairfield/san jose(bit of a stretch?).
I’ll be coming from Sac to attend tournaments if there’s a decent turnout. Try not to raise the entry fee too high tho cuz then I might as well just hand drew my wallet :tdown:

i was talkin with dan and there is a good chance the MU will get SF4 and Tekken 6. i could care less bout SF4 but T6 is gonna be awesome. and i hear its scrub-friendly. so none of you nubes (kevin-cough*) have no excuse not to play tekken (that is if we get it).

T5DR is an awesome game and im not to excited about T6 as i should be, but ill still play it for myself to before i make my final decision. imo the tekken franchise is really trying to extend the game to a broader demographic by making it more accessible, but still retaining the the strategic elements its well known for. the bound system sounds alright but i could do without the rage.

I don’t see T6 appealing to a bigger demographic unless they either:
A) Combine all the buttons into one jumbo button for button mashers
or
B) Add more buttons for button mashers
And it ain’t scrubfriendly if I can’t scrub out with wakeup shoryus and wakeup supers
Head to head sounds cool, i know it’s unlikely but man 3rd strike head to head cabinets?? Heaven. SF4 we should get dude unless it turns out to be a total bust. Glad to hear about Super Turbo too. Someone should start holding in-houses. I got a modded PS2 and XBOX, both have CVS2 and MVC2, Xbox has 3s and PS2 has Melty and if people want I can hunt down the Guilty Gears. I also have one of those dual stick x-arcades but they put the sticks too fucking close together so I’m going to try to cut that beast in half and add like a foot of wood to the middle of it.
ANYWAYS moral of the story is someone volunteer their house.
Marty is jumping the gun a bit on Tekken 6 and SF4. We are attempting to get both, with as of now a higher possibility of Tekken, but nothing is 100%, as we are working with an importer who may or may not come through in the end.
We are going to build head to head cabinets. We have sent our plans to a cabinet builder and he is going to attempt to build them as long as the price is right. We should find out by next week on all of the above (except SF4, since the release date isn’t set).
If you need some joysticks built, let me know. I built quite a few back in the day and like to waste time on it. I suggest you build the box (I have the plans for a MAS clone somewhere) and I can hack and wire the boards for you.

If you’re building a stick for the first time, just understand that Japanese parts are more expensive and more difficult to install. I’m working on a Jap stick atm and it is a bish cuz the actual stick has a really short throw (metal stick) so the box has to be either multi-layered or routed out.
If we are doing in-houses, I can bring two sticks (X-Arcade with happ parts and an average custom stick I made with Happ parts)
I modded a SFAC stick right when I got back home from Davis. Maybe now I can keep up with you guys</happy face>
I still want to make my own, but there’s no time right now. I looked at the tech board and the hardest parts seem to be the soldering and making the box.

Thats cool sorry I didn’t get back to you right away, but sfsu has really good comp for most games, so I think you’ll settle in real quick. But take it easy and I hope to play you again.
