Biggest tourney was the CvS2 one, it was down to Tanaka v. Andrew. I’m pretty sure Andrew took top prize.
MvC2 was round-robin, Erick won, if I remember correctly.
3s was up and looking good, I think Andrew might have one that one or maybe it was Tanaka? Not entirely sure.

So the 1st tourney didnt run as smoothly as I liked, but I was fucking tired from clinicals (which started @ 4:30 in the morning, so I was up at like 3:30). Regardless it was fun, next time we will have things running smoothly, as Marty now know what tourneys involve.

Venkat: the old 3S board is sitting around for a while. We want to make sure that this new one works well, before we get rid of it. As soon as we decide to get rid of it, I’ll let you know. I just found out the new board is the Asian version, I don’t know if this makes a difference in Unblockables or not, so someone find out. Also anybody know the official Tourney speed for 3S, it seemed a little slow on default speed last night.

Dan mentioned it earlier, weekend are no good because they are often reserved for parties/events.
Is anyone going to be there during finals week? I’m done with finals after tomorrow, but wont be heading home until friday. Which means I’ll probably hang around the arcade for a bit.
Oh, right. I’ve yet to make it clear. I’m the the guy that sticks to low-tier characters(Aure). Well, not so much low tiers as much as characters that look fun to play with. I’m CvS2 Terry player.
I use mostly Dudley/Ibuki in 3s.
I have played you, actually. I remember double ko Dudley mirror match we had once(I think it was you?). My Dudley is pretty sucky though.
Yeah, but I stick to CvS2/MvC2 most of the time. I tend to stick to Terry in CvS2, and Guile in MvC2.

I always get excited when I see someone jump on the Tekken machine, then I get sad when they start spazzing on the buttons. I usually don’t play them and let them enjoy the game, unlike someone I know (MARTY)
You know, maybe I will take up Tekken. I’ve always wanted to try it, but I never take the time to remember the combo strings. But it always looks fun every time I see Roy playing it.

Super Turbo is in the works. As far as I know that HD version isnt coming to arcades. I will probably bring my MVS KOF98 and throw it in a machine over summer so that we can mess around with it. Samurai Showdown as well.
I’ve told a few people this already but we are in the process of building head to head cabinets with LCD screens, which will be used for fighting games (hopefully SF4, Tekken 6, Soul Calibur 4/5/?, or that new Blazblu or guilty gear game). They should be here sometime over the summer and I will keep you all updated as to their status.
True story:
I glanced into the arcade room a couple of months ago to check in on the games and I saw Marty playing Tekken against someone. I walked in and saw that the other player was a disabled kid in a wheelchair who was moving the joystick with his mouth while simultaneously mashing the buttons with the side of his head. Marty was trying to be nice (I think, he might just suck) and let the kid win the first two rounds. After the kid won the second round, he looked over at Marty and smirked, or possibly drooled. In either case, Marty’s eyes lit up like Eric Bana/Edward Norton and his inner Hulk came out. Marty destroyed the kid, who was playing as the panda thing, and the kid started to cry.
So Marty spit on him.
