thats pretty hot stuff right there.
corner loops are always nice.

That corner loop looks easier than repeated kendama spins, to be honest. I’ll have to try it out. You can really see the gravity kick in around the 4th repetition.
No one had any comment on the baroque combo I posted before? What are people using for baroque for?
yeah its a decent enough bbq combo since 5b 5c works most of the time in this game. i totally forgot that that works better now so i just used 2a 2b 5c 236b i might switch if i cant figure out a better one.
4[charge]6C
Won’t this prorate like hell, reducing the combo damage? At least every time I use it I feel I’m not doing enough damage. =/
yeah could very well be better to skip it.
I’d noticed the proration, yeah. It’d been ignoring it though, since you can repeat 2A,2B,3C, and t’s such a perfect time to call assist before launching.
I’ll experiment some more and post again.
Well… Since I don’t see a partner thread or anything…
Would yatter-2 do good with yatter-1?
I really like them both but sometimes I wonder if they can really work out together.
#1 is a great battery for #2 and can dhc into her safely in with no effort anywhere on screen.
#2’s assist is almost perfect for yatters resets but not much else
#1’s assist can extend #2’s ground combos but not much else
its a workable team, but neither character is going to be at their strongest with the other as their partner. they are both strong solo characters though.
meh… #1 assist isn’t that great so I really didn’t expect him to help #2 at all.
I’ll try to extend her combos using his assist.
And I might give that corner loop a try too (first I’ll make the notations for it and post them here when I have enough time to do so) xD
Thanks for the input.
I don’t find Yatter1’s assist to be as terrible as people like to say. If you can hit with it on the ground as part of a combo, it’s as good as Ryu’s. You might have to adjust your ground chain in order to get it to hit, but it’s no huge deal. Just have to make it work.
I’d have to agree with EmptyShiki. I’m not that great at the game, but I’ve been using these two exclusively since I first got the game. On their own they are both fantastic, but you’re also playing at a bit of difficult handicap, since they both have pretty low health. On the plus side, they are both characters that can give opponents a hard time getting close. So at the very least they’re good at giving each other time to recover if the opponent can’t touch them.
I’m not sure if this is any good, but I do like summoning Dice Robo (can’t be bothered to spell his real name right) while getting Gan to use Yatterwan to tackle the opponent. It’s some alright pressure with Dice Robot and Yatterwan, I think.
Corner loop (ryu assist):
j.C, P, j.C, dj.C, 2C, 6C, [214A > A > j.B, 5C, 3C]x4, 214A > A> j.B, j.623A, 2A, 5C, 3C, 214A > A > j.B, j.236A, 2A, 5C, 236A, P, j.B, j.623A, 2A, 5C, 236A, 623A+B
Video:
I hope it’s correct.
I was messing around with BBQs and one that I really like to do is 5A, 2A, 2B, 5C, 214(any version)+B, BBQ.
I used every version of the Yatter Run and they all worked, I just use B cause the B attack is the move I use during the run. When you hit the opponent with the slide, wait a moment before BBQ so you’ll be right next to them when you BBQ. After that you can launch them up for the DP BnB combo
Just saw some videos of your yatter-1 in action, Empty and I must say I’m impressed! GJ!
6B as anti air against jumps or IAD after hit, immediately BBQ dash forward, 5A,3C. Puts them at correct height so you can go into empty shiki’s relaunch combo or resets.
5A is decent when they are already close and then go for a jump in or IAD.
in the corner 2a,2b,3c,sj, b,b,623+C 8, b,b, delayed C land 214+AB Works on most char’s minus the obvious ones. eg roll, v.joe
on emptyshiki’s reset combo if you use an air dash A to lift them for the reset at the end of the combo you can sneak in an air grab. Works well once you have the opponent scared of the numerous options you have afterward.
I really wanted to list all of the viable mix up after that reset but there is just too much lol
Pretty much any option from either side of the opponent is available.
5a is a reliable anti air against alot of moves, its weak against things like the tekkamens j. C though, 214 bb is also a good anti air measure for stuff that 5a can’t deal with, just to escape.
alot of the options on reset depend on the assist too if you want it to be as safe as possible. the best option no particular assist no bbq i have come up with is j.b dp. C on either side. if it is blocked you go into pressure or assist mixup or dhc into ippatsu for unblockable reset, if it hits dash into relauncher. if they block and advance guard the dp just whip them or chase after them.
air dash c variants with assist are also good.
Hey Shiki, I was watching your reset vid again, and I just wanted to ask - are you able to hit with fire dog super after the relaunch combo?
Right at 0:09 in your vid - - j.C into fire dog?
I still can’t do the tigerknee spins consistently, so I can’t try this combo myself yet. It’s probably just lack of practice, but let me know if you got any tips on doing them…
Been doing more work on BBQ, but I’ll leave it here for now cause I have the impression my long posts get ignored
yeah at that distance it would almost certainly work since the dust is in the air when you recover. the thing is if you land that close to the corner they bounce behind you and it only works on certain characters. ive tried karaing like in the last game but 3c seems to randomly drop sometimes (probubly due to slight landing timing differences) and not work on alot of characters period if you 2c they recover. walking back slightly after buffering the qcb for the super gives me the same result of them going over my back, i think if one did that perfectly it would work though.
just get the hang of the timing, not doing it too early is the key, i had a hard time doing them in the first game for the infinite myself but i got the hang of it, i rarely mess up at this point.
Hey EmptyShiki,
Is the 1st combo you showed in the video:
2B, 3C, j.B, 623C, 6239B, land, dash-in, 2A, 2B, 3C, j.B, j.B, 623C, 623B, airdash, j.C ?
For reason, when I try to relaunch, the second 623x resets the combo count
you need to do the second 623 faster than the first one and it should 623c 623c airdash j.c
