Final Tournament Tomorrow
Results from last week are in…delayed because I went to FFA.
This week will be the last Davis weekly. Next week the MU will be closing at 8pm which makes running one impossible. Should we do a pot split this last tournament or should we keep it the same format?

Tomorrow, June 2nd starting @ 6pm will be the last tournament.
Next week, June 9th, there will be no tournament because the MU closes early for the entire week, actually.
I wouldnt want people to come from afar to be screwed.

The signs outside the door say that the MU will close at 9 PM next week…and last week’s tourney finished before 9 o’clock. Oh well, there wouldn’t be as many people showing next week due to term papers…maybe it could be possible to finish up before 9 again.

So Cal Trip LOG: Day 1
I wake up Thursday morning after 2 hours of sleep. Why 2 hours? Because LB invaded Davis the night before at 11 pm and we played SF2: rainbow edition ^ ^. If you havent played that game before, i strongly reccomend it (sonic sonic sonic sonic sonic boom !). I wake up thursday, and i get in N-D’s car with Dave and andy’s friend Kevin. The drive there involved lots of sleep, eating at In&Out, and listening to andys same CDs repeatedly (not bad music though so it was all good). However, the highlight of the drive was easily THE BILLBOARDS !. So Cal has top tier billboards. For example… I BUY UGLY HOUSES… FAST ! Too good. So finally after detours in Riverside, and LA , (like 11 hours of driving with traffic) andy drops me off in Irvine.
I go to my friends room and drop off my stuff. Wow Irvine dorms and campus is all new and stuff compared to davis. And me and andy saw the best sign there: NO BIKING. Peace out Davis students. After a while I go meet up with Team Control (UC irvine crew) for a gaming session, at one of the members, Abel’s house. They were all really cool and good players. The best part was that they used characters i was unfamiliar playing against (such as 12, hugo, elena, yang, ibuki, remy), and it was a really good experience. I also got to play some CVS2 matches there with DENTRON. You all know dentron, the man with the BEST avatar ever. hahahaha. Anyways, he has a score to settle with DANTRON. DANTRON VS DENTRON, match of the millenium ! After playing til like 3 am, i go back to my friends room and finally watch Kill Bill Vol 1 for the first time (yes, im slow) with him on his computer. Haha, highlight of the movie for me was BOSS TANAKA getting his head cut off >: ).
One thing haunts me though… who is this GTO person Team control was mentioning? I would soon find out … to be continued.

i think you played him at Zot Zone on friday. he was the fobby looking asian guy with the glasses. i think he played ryu or akuma. during those casual matches, he beat JR( the guy who played dudley).
most of team control don’t mind him anymore because they can rape his ass easily with their “A” character. he’s one of those scrubs that does really basic combos and gets most of their damage in from doing fireball chip damage and supers only when they jump in(or randomly).
the reason why 90% of uci players hate him is because he plays so much that he actually has the patience to win like that. people who are just learning the game can’t jump in on him because he plays so defensively. seriously if you start building bar, he’ll join you and build bar too and he won’t stop till you do something else. Even if you jus stand there and don’t press any buttons, he’ll continue on pressing “strong”. he feels no shame whatsoever.
