Types of Dizzy

I apologize if this question has been asked before, but what are the requirements for obtaining each of the four dizzies (stars, birds, angels, and devils), and what is the difference between each type? (does one last longer?)

As far as I know, the dizzy system in SF2 works the same way as in SF3… you just can’t see the stun meters, is all.

Concerning which type of dizzy you’ll get, I believe it’s completely random but the four types have weighted frequencies; that is, some of them are more likely to happen than others. Angels and reapers are both rare, with about equal chances. Stars and birds are much more common than those, with maaayyybe stars being a little more common than birds.

Angels last the least long, followed I think by stars and then birds, and reapers last the longest.

(crosspost from bug thread)
I remember in the beta, people noticed that not all the dizzy types were occurring online.

Has anyone seen angels or reapers yet?
I figured it’s worth a check just because it used to be a known issue. I’m pretty sure I’ve had both stars and birds.

I always assumed Angels=God loves you, devils=god hates you…because you’re fucked if you get devils.

I was about to type that I had seen reapers plenty, but then again, I play a lot of local matches with the local scrubbery around here…so I’m not sure if I can honestly say I’ve seen reapers online. Probably though…but then again, this game has some pretty stupid bugs, so maybe not.

Funny to say, but as long as they’re all fine offline I’m happy.

Yeah, I’ve seen all four offline, thank God or whatever. This game is so fucked sometimes it’s unbelievable in terms of bugginess, but it’s mostly online, so at least tournament play will be relatively okay (until the black screen/HUD bug/controls reset bugs occur)

It would have been cool if the different dizzy states had meant something.
For instance, maybe the reaper could have meant you were dizzied by four consecutive fierce punches or something.

Another question about dizzies:

There have been times when I’ve hit the opponent and they’re dizzied for a split second before flipping out of the dizzy.

I’ve only seen this online and was wondering if this is just a graphical glitch or something else.

keflex, I think that’s just the opponent mashing his way out of dizzy fast enough. The durations can be pretty short. I normally don’t trust dizzies to last longer than as soon as the opponent gets up.
