Hey Frank, I was thinking about how you said you weren’t gonna put up the vids from S2 on youtube. Although I understand that keeping data secret before Evo is a good idea, not posting the vids would be a huge missed opportunity in marketing TWs as a whole. Think about it, days after SSFIV is released there will be 20 or so vids up from TWs matches that will pop up in youtube when people search for character vids and such. Advertise it on SRK, Eventhubs, etc. and within the first week of release, we could potentially have more than double subscribers to the channel gaining quick national exposure, especially since our recording will level up a bit since S1 with all the high-tech gear that will be used. Also, once S1 is over, you and Lee and whoever else should really work on the TW website to really market it towards SSFIV and get the TW name out there. Hell I’d be down to help with some basic SEO for the website. The hype for Super is easily more than vanilla SF4, now’s the time to capitalize.

And yes I feel a makeover of the TW’s site for Season 2 would be nice. I did a little cleaning up like removing the fight card and putting the schedule on there for future events (ranbats and season 2 start dates, end dates)
What would be really fucking raw is if we can somehow convince inkblot and company to let us run the TW’s Season 2 finals on the big screen @ EVO like an exhibition…granted the only set back is that those in the finals be at EVO this year.
What I’d like to do for the fight card this go around is to put up youtube videos of upcoming matches. I haven’t sat down and tried to figure out what kind of format I’d have but it’s a thought.
And yes I do want interviews with teams, which also brings me to the next order of business: Team LOGOS
This season I’d like to do something a little different. Instead of people making up logos, I’d actually like to take pictures of the teams themselves. Essentially, your logo would become your teams “Vs. pic” which I would try to use for the fight card, and what not. I’d like to do this because it matches a face to the names of players, and it’ll can show off players personalities. I’m thinking of just taking a picture behind a blank backdrop, and them maybe cropping in a random SF stage (ex: Strawberry Sex could have Vega’s stage from SF2, or Sagat’s stage from Alpha), it’s an idea. But to get it started I’ll need to take pictures of teams.
The hardest part of that is to actually get the teammates together before Season 2 starts…
Also about the trading cards, since Jeff and I didn’t continue to take photographs of players @ TW’s (Jeff manning camera work, me commentating running around like a banshee definately cut into the time to take some shots of the players) I don’t have everyone’s trading card…of course if you want one made up I could always try and whip one up for you. I like the picture idea Frank, but we should still have logos. And cropping the team on a SF2 background sounds really cheesy, and might undermine the professionalism aspect. Just my thoughts.
ESL stands for Electric Shoryuken Legs or English as a Second Language: the problem with that is that Mikhail is the only one of us three who actually speaks English as a second language. I think Crash is still gonna play Blanka, but we’re not really sure about the other three characters, so anything could happen. Maybe it should be Electric Shunpuukyaku Lariat!
I too think we should still have logos, and the picture idea is awesome. Versus screens have great hype potential, and adding personalized pictures to them could be really awesome, but I think it take some good planning / design to make it into something genuinely cool.
