Two Pieces....

good to see your art again, seba. And this one’s really, really nice.

couple of nitpicks though:

  • highlight under her eye feels weird to me somehow. I can’t quite place it, but I’m thinking it’s implying unusual bone structure underneath her skin? I would just restrict that highlight to the outer aspect of her cheek.

  • the shadow under her right thigh seems too uniformly straight, which seems to imply that her thigh is a perfect cylinder / cone. I think it should curve a bit more to look more natural.

that’s it for crit. I love how you’ve done everything else.
Especially the knees. Really nice work there.

Hey, it’s nice to see you guys liked it… Multitude thanks on my part!.. Any of you think her hair kinda looks bare and bland?.. Too much hair?.. Less is more?..

Super thanx!.. :woot:
You’re absolutely right about the leg… Dunno what I was thinking about making it super straight… Must be the fact that the shadow goes to the knee, it kinda looks coney…

I dunno which eye you’re talking about though, but I assume the closer one?.. 'Cuz the farther eye’s got that weird highlight going on that I’m gonna fix…

def the closer one. the eye on our right, her left, is actually fine as is. and the hair looks fine. i think any more in the hair would have too much pop. it doesn’t stand out but the colors also aren’t flat and bland. it’s an afro. not really much you can do with it. i mean it looks just like it should. maybe that’s just me. superb job all around, tho. really great work this time. i actually dig the skates the most ^^

nice work ED!
i think the hair could use more detail… maybe it looks a little flat right now. think maybe adding some shadows and highlights couldn’t hurt it.
love the pose and skates on this one.

I really like how your rendered the sharpshooter girl… and I agree with SFMC on how holding the gun with two hands give her more character.

keep up the awesome work.

PS: (the snk artist who does all the KOF art might be worth looking into because he kinda keeps all the realistic proportions and have a similar style you’re achieving…)

Just wanted to say very nice work indeed, everyone already pretty much explained what you could touch up. Keep up the great work.

Seba … this new one is excellent. Really solid work. Not nits to pick.

Hey all, just wanna say you guys inspire me so much and thank all those who have left critiques… I’ve done changes… Anywayz, I’m quite busy this year as I’ve started working on film production (filming is big here in Vancouver) and hopefully I could join the union and end up in the graphic design area of the art dept… So far, I’m only doing Set Dec and props… It’s very fun despite being draining since you work for 16-hours a day and when you get home, you pretty much just have time to eat and sleep and go back to work the next day… But I’ve only been doing independent films and TV shows so it doesn’t stretch long and the rest are pretty much spare days I’ve spent on my other work… (I’m also trying to renew my passport so I can travel)

Okay, to the point here’s a T-shirt artwork I did for one friend:

Don’t ask about the text, I don’t quite get the kick in it either… He just suggested what I should try to express and show… Now the next step is to change them into vector shapes in Adobe Illustrator!!!.. That’ll be a test in patience… I’ve already done another T-Shirt design for him called “The Man From Glad Is Dead”… In any case, I do hope you guys are doing well and good luck to all you artists!..

^ This is great. Its got that “60’s instructional” art style to it.

Hey thanks!.. But what do you mean “'60s intructional art style”?.. Could you give an example?..

Are you talking about Shinkiro?.. 'Cuz in actuality I’m not a big fan of his stuff… They’re too realistic…

'Tis old from mid last year… His nose kinda looks fugly, but I like how his pants and knees turned out!..

Holy shit that is sick.

welcome back man. i love your style. everything you do always looks so clean to me.
haha i think the nose kinda fits him. what did you originally want with it?
only thing that stands out to me is the leg on our right, from the knee down. it looks a bit short and makes the foot appear to be floating.

Welcome back! Always excited to see more from you!

Do you have custom brushes that you use or particular opacity limits you set for individual brushes? I’m very curious as to how you paint. I’m researching a way to paint bgs in my art.

Hey an update! I really like how you’ve rendered the fabric here, and also his bicep showing through the fabric. Not sure I like the BG since it’s suppose to be hand writings but looks too digital. Other than that the only thing that bothers me is his left foot looks like it’s floating. THe heel isn’t on the same ground as his right foot.

Cheerios! and post more!
