TVC US version character changes (to be updated)

pff…stop posting classic TVC related things in this topic please. You got my hopes up and everything.

D: okay Dx

Something I should have put in the list earlier: you cannot gain meter when Zero is using his sougenmu special. I’m still sure it’ll be a useful super, but not on the league of other meter-building supers like Chun Li’s lightning legs super.

^Actually, when you say “Not on the league of other meter-building supers like Chun Li’s lightning legs super.” There are no other meter building supers at all. Chun-li has a super that ends and you can combo easy off of. There is no actual building of meter from this super either. It is the after: [hold up and do C lighting Legs, Jump Cancel C etc etc etc] that builds mad meter. Also the fact that it went straight into her infinite (which is out now) made it a big time meter builder.

Zero, once his sougenmu is over as long as there is no lag after the super is over (which there is not) you can continue to combo and build meter after it is over. Now how much meter you are able to gain after the super is over is up to the person since he is new and there is nothing about him yet, so you have to make it up as you go.

Just a hint tho, if you can end this super and have Baroque+ a low level shot charged, (I think he has 3 levels of his shot) you have a free fall situation that leads to more combos!!

What I meant is that after the launch of Chun Li’s lightning legs or Joe’s mach punch, you can immediately start building meter as soon as you launch and after the ‘super background’ is gone. This way you can get back most of the meter used to do that super, so that’s why I called it meter building super, or a very economical super because it comboes into a situation where you are able to catch the opponent and build meter afterwards. Essentially I was referring to any level 1 super where you’re able to still combo the opponent after the super ends without having to use a DHC or VHC.

For Zero, we’re going to have to wait for the effect of sougenmu to wear off, and I was just saying that Zero doesn’t seem to have any links, so it might be hard to draw out his combos without using an assist/baroque. I guess it’s something we’ll have to experiment with.

How do you know this?

On a more serious note, yeah it sucks that you can’t build meter during the super, especially considering that the effect seems to be a little bit…minimal? We’ll have to wait and see, but my hype for that super has kind of worn down a bit, and I already didn’t like his other two. We’ll have to see I guess.

We’ve seen most of his normal moveset already. I said he doesn’t SEEM to have any links because of all the moves so far, none of his attacks appear to put into stagger. His strings all end in knockdowns or knockback thanks to the nature of his specials. (except maybe swallow dive, which I’m not sure about.)

even if swallow dive does stagger, you’d need baroque to cancel into it if you want it to combo on a grounded opponent, since the startup is a bit slow.

I’m still pretty hype for Sougenmu. It’s another combo rep and a quick cancel from any ground move. That’s always nice.

New footage. Almost 6 minutes worth of stuff! Thanks for being useful for once, Gamefaqs.

From this I can see that Rock’s weapon switch in the air isn’t that bad, so he may still be able to do his combos. Also, Ippatsuman is going to have some serious pressure now that he can air dash after doing that short jumping attack. We also get a few nice new Tekkaman B&B’s to make up for the nerfs to his launcher.

The Roll and Alex players weren’t very good. But that Roll+Polymar team made me think that Polymar could use Roll’s assist to land further damage after shikuu katatekoma by hitting the opponent OTG with it and then doing Polymar Drill. I’m sure this could be done in CgH but Polymar + Roll isn’t that common as a team.

I do like the idea of roll charging her broom during Polymar assists. :3

What I liked more was that she can actually dash under during polymar assists…can you say resets?

I wonder if there’d be a way for her to lay a water trap under them before the assist finishes.

That video makes me smile a alot. Mostly because I said that most of what makes TvC: CGoH a high level Tourney fighter is going over the western worlds heads. Yatterman-1 can still do double dp in one combo, more over, he can still do normals between them. Meaning that he can still zone crazy with DP’s. I will still be playing Yatter/Alex. Fuck Karas!!!

Megaman also seems like only his ground weapon switch has been slightly nerfed to remove the infintie. He is still a beast and should have the same spam game in normal jump mode. I will be playing Ippatsuman/voltt still.

This makes me so happy because it seem like I will only have to add more teams instead of making up all new ones. I think the only team I will stop playing all together is cash/poli, and just make them new teams of Cash/zero and TBlade/Poli!! I can not wait for this game to drop!!!

Yeah I know! I’m so glad that they didn’t totally screw the game over for hardcore players by taking out the clever options that make the characters what they are. In these vids you’re seeing the official players using all sorts of common high-level tactics. They’re not afraid to show it off as the badass fighter that it is.

I’m actually going to be able to play Karas and not feel like a shitsack for doing so. He looks incredibly fun now. And of course I’m going to be messing about with V.Joe, Saki, Ippatsuman and so on because they’re more viable now that they’re no longer ‘console exclusive’ characters. (techincally they still are, but who cares about the arcade version of the game right now. CgH is obsolete.)

BTw. zero’s rekkouha doesn’t actually do 23000 if everything hits like I previously thought. The reason it registered as such was because in that video Viewtiful Joe summoned his assist at the same time, so it counted damage for both characters. Oh well!

At first when I found that he could move after his 623C, I was already happy, but I never thought about the weaker versions of the attack! Yup, good, non-baroque pressure off of 623+A/B/C is a welcome addition. Also from the same vid, they showed Ippatsuman can combo more off of his 2C sweep, as well as cancel attacks off of his 6C tackle with no baroque necessary!

Oh awesome. Thanks for pointing that out. I never really played him much so I didn’t know what to look for. I’ll add that to the list.

Why such a lack of Joe talk? All i see is Zero Zero Zero. My man Joe super smooth. IMO he is THE best new character. Hands down. =D

I wonder if 6C still has hyper armor since you can cancel it into specials now. That would be too good!! It sucks now that we do not know if all specials are able to cancel 6C or is it just the DP’s? Same with 2C, are the baseballs the only new addition or are DP’s also able to cancel that normal.

They really did not fuck with the game play too much, I am really happy with the way the new game looks and plays. It will be the shit when it hits!!

I have never really played a fighter like Melty blood, but I knew that when I got the chance to play a game like that (there is always some new version of that game coming out, and it always seems to help make it better but not change the game play too much) from beginning to end that I would love it.

Ingrid and Phoenix Wright?

Blurry pictures are so 1993.

Don’t post those damn secret file pictures here. lol. They’re just showing off bonus content that won’t be included in the game. We know this already.

furthermore, if Ingrid AND Pheonix are actually still in the game, then that means we need 2 tatsunoko characters to balance it out. One more than Yatterman-2

Having said that, I have no idea who Ingrid is.

Joe Condor! Hmm…he looks like a really fun character and I’m going to be playing about with him a lot. However his missile strike super seems kind of useless based on the fact that the initial bullet stream is slow and easy to avoid (the super is easy to interrupt in general) and the missile hits everyone on screen, so you can’t exactly use it for cover or pressure.

His other super (the shuriken throwing super) doesn’t effect the opponent properly if the first wave of shurikens hits them when they’re jumping, because they land and can block the second wave.
