TVC US version character changes (to be updated)

It’s true that that can work, but Karas pressure works in strings with gaps, mostly hitting low, so people who have experience playing against Karas know when the gaps when you can try to jump out are. If you try to jump before this, they know you almost always get tagged with a low into a combo. If you, as a karas player, drop a string in the middle, most experienced players won’t try to jump out, unless they’re used to seeing you do this to set up throws or do something else.

Yeah but the problem there is that you end up with 0 levels and 0 meter. This means touch of death from a decent chunk of the cast, and at least high damage getting dropped on you with no chance of a crash. It’s a pretty ballsy move to throw away all your meter to waste some time.

Onimusha mode is a great way to run down the clock during the endgame. YOu make a very valid point though.

If they took away his mega armor during the move, the least they could do is give him the option to end it at will, saving your remaining meter if you choose to.

this vid confirms soki does not have any super armor in oni mode. Also note that the slots for red orbs is still there even after oni mode has ended. Does this mean red orbs will carry over until soki transforms again? Will he be able to his ultimate critical outside of oni mode?

Still no word on folks from AX.

Anyone at AX notice any changes to TvC?

Thanks for finding that ll.nd. I’ll add that to the list.

Did anyone notice changes to Megaman?

Very interesting…I think oni mode Souki will auto-absorb souls or something. Either that or he’ll continue to be able to take souls even after the level 3 ends.

I played more at AX. I actually got 40 wins on one station on Friday and the Capcom guy asked that I stop playing so others could play without losing in 20 seconds. I’m no great player, but everyone else just seemed to be unfamiliar with it.

Anyway, more about Souki’s oni mode. You get 2 souls per hit. Didn’t notice a single difference in absorbing (there definitely is not any auto absorb). Red souls seemed to come out pretty frequently. Absorbing without super armor is not fun.

His 623C always wall bounces. I think I was able to get it to combo of a standing 5C as well. Depending on distance after hitting, I could dash and get a 5C but the opponent would block a follow-up of 3C. I could sometimes get a 5B, 5C, 3C.

For Karas: Variable Counter into Level 3 still works. I just have a thing for the level 3, so I use it as much as I can.

I tried the game in France during a manga convention where Nintendo presented a US prototype version of the game. I don’t know if it will be in the final version but it was impossible to kill someone with cheap damage.

A friend of mine unleashed 3 supers at a row while his opponent had 0 HPs and he was still alive.

Gee it sounds like Soki’s oni mode is just all around bad now. How are you supposed to absorb if you have no super armour? Jeez.

I can confirm this as true. Chip damage does not kill.

Sometimes, it feels like it’s TvC for babies. Still fun, but I have yet to see a change I am excited about.

Was he pushblocking?

Very much, no.

There are simply no chip damage KO’s.

I noticed that Chuns 6C travels a longer distance now which makes it a bit more useful

no they nerfed karas swordspin :wtf: and made it were you cant combo into level 3 super off throw :wtf: thats bs! if they were gonna nerf him those areas were fine what they needed to nerf was his range, speed and prioty slightly. i play karas and i think those things are more over powering then nerfing swordspin and no lvl3 off a throw. while losing the lvl3 off the throw kinda hurts me a little cause i do have mix up for it, i can still live with that but i think tekkaman is gonna be one of the best characters in the game if the updates are confirmed. does anyone have any idea what the new characters are gonna be? sorry if this is the wrong thread

…that shit about not being able to kill someone with chip damage better just be for promotional copies of that game so babies playing it at demos dont get mad. that would be SO stupid. basically the other player will have ample opportunity to turn things around if you cant chip them to death.

It’s hard to chip people to death in this game thanks to pushblock anyway. So it’s no big deal.

Does pushblock still negate chip completely?

I’m pretty excited about all changes so far except for stuff like Souki level 3 which is just silly. And for people worrying about Karas, we haven’t yet seen how the rest of his moves are nerfed yet. If they take out his infinite, then trust me, he won’t be nearly as threatening as he once was and will have no reason for further nerfs.

Not really, it’s actually pretty common to chip someone to death with a super, or at least throw it out with that as an intention. If you ever hit a combo that leaves someone near no health, a lot of characters have a super you can just throw out for that purpose.

Not a character change, but a change nonetheless. It seems now stages will have their own music and not the characters anymore.

This vid shows that cash can still 41236+AB after denkou punch.
