TVC US version character changes (to be updated)

lol wouldn’t it be funny if Frank West ends up being a good teamate for Ippatsuman…

there is a thread about sfv in the fgd section, and in that thread is a link to a site speaking of the post made by a member that had dropped names of new characters on the upcoming upgrade in a thread, but that thread wasnt closed, it was literally deleted, which adds to the conspiracy. the new characters are suppose to be hawk, deejay, mokoto, dudley, ibiki, cody, and i think two others. if this is true, then i will play the shit out of the next version.

Frank West’s LV.3 Super is brutal!

I’m loving his Megaman X super, probably the closest X has been in a fighting game.

Teknoman looks awesome, but he does seem kind of awkward to maneuver.

He looks sort of Justice from Guilty Gear

I’m definitely still going to main Ippatsuman in the US version.
If Frank West ends up being remotely good on his own, I’m all for Team Homerun.
It looks like his flash assist hits fullscreen? o_o

okay, we get this what, january, cool. it looks like once again, sf4 is gonna steal tvc’s shine, and i aint gonna lie, sf4 is lookin stupid fucking hype right now, but then again i play multiple games anyways. these two games could possible be the best version two’s of them to ever drop. are we about to see two decent games finally made?

Seems that SSF4 is not getting released in arcades though, which is a really odd decision on Capcom’s part.

Some notes for you frustratedsquirrel.

Saki’s assist knocks the opponent the whole way across the screen now.
Saki’s energy sphere projectile lasts for a much shorter time, removing her infinite.

im not thrilled that they shortened saki’s energy sphere thing. i never bothered with her infinite but i think nerfing that move will make it pretty useless…just like the other two non-regular shots she has. i am psyched as hell with her buffs though. i love saki.

22C shot is not useless… You do know it becomes a low or overhead depending on how you shoot it, right? It’s also useful in air combos. Saki may have that unblockable shot, but if you want to hold onto some meter, 22C shot can give Saki a mixup game.

that energy sphere is still going to be pretty useful IMO. It’s still an obstacle even if it only lasts for a short time.

i didnt know it worked as an overhead…interesting.

damn, i just noticed that batsu’s “Ryusei kick no longer bounces back after being blocked, making it less safe”. that sucks. i dont like the changes theyre doing to my beloved batsu. im assuming there will be some good ones to come, though.

You should’ve seen what the Japanese did to this move, dude. If you saw it, you’d want to nerf it too.

Talk about unstoppable keepaway.

leave it to the japanese…

any vids of it in action?

Eh… I am referring to the hundreds of hours of TRF videos I have watched. Since no one plays Batsu anymore in these videos it would be hard to find, I would have to go way back.

The move wasn’t that great. I don’t really think it needed to be nerfed, but (hopefully) they’re just trying to address all the runaway strategies that were present in the game. Batsu’s was pretty much super jump, random number of fireballs, ryusei kick. If it got blocked, you were safe from getting punished right away, but usually you’d get stuck in the corner if you hit someone’s block with it. I dunno, it was a decent enough strategy, mostly just for building meter, but it’s good that they’re addressing things like that which could keep away new players.

Just out of curiosity, I can’t find a single North American company that has licensed the anime that Hakushon Daimaou is from. In fact, judging from what I can find here:

http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/encyclopedia/anime.php?id=1755

It seems to me that they are all European companies moslty that have had licensing rights. On top of that, this anime is so old…

I wonder who the fuck would step up and say we need royalties from this new game that has a character from an anime that is over 20 years old and you can probably no longer milk it in your market.

Than again, it always does come down to money…

You know what’d be nice? Removing shortcuts like what they have on SF4. Alex randomly air knee’ing is not cool. :frowning:

You think that’s bad? Try canceling from Lightan’s launcher into his HCB drop kick. You’ll get a 360 grab every time, because 360s are so easy now that you only have to hit SIX inputs to get the 360.

The shortcuts are actually making it HARDER to win, Capcom. Take note.
