What about Yatterman? once you get good at his TK’d 623 specials, he’s quite good. Sure, nobody can seem to do his infinite 100% of the time yet, but if mastered it’s so far the most damaging non-glitched infinite in the game. Shouldn’t he be high?
Tekkaman = no mixups?
Ambiguous crossup hell, leading into meter free 24k damage every time without BBQ.
Yeah.
Tekkaman’s j.C is crossup goodness!
And not to mention he shoots RAINBOW LASERS u gotta give him points for that
Yeah yatterman is one of the remaining unknowns at this point. Most characters have been pretty fleshed out at this point (all though of course something new could always be discovered), but Yatterman’s still a wild card. Everybody seems to know that he has mad potential, but he is REALLY hard to use. His infinite is hard as nails and his game outside of that is also really cerebral. There’s a fairly good number of people who use him over here, but most of them really don’t seem to have a good overall game developed as much as they just spam certain things.
Also Keits speaks the truth. Tekkaman j.C is hell of crossups.
Tekkaman is just fun, seriously. The fact that he gives so much damage support to otherwise weak-ish characters (cough…Ken…Jun…cough) is worth one thing, but he can also do almost 30k with a dry combo, even more with assists and baroques.
I found a shortcut for doing Yatterman’s TK’d 623 special, but I’m sure it’s common knowledge. Anyway, since nobody checks the character threads anymore, I’ll post it here.
It’s much easier to do his TK’d moves if you input a fast 360 motion that starts with 6 and ends with 3. I still can’t do his infinite, but I’d imagine this is much, much easier than trying to do it with proper dragon punch inputs.
Yatterman has like the best launcher from what ive seen and few can punish the launcher (sadly the few are quite commonly played eg. karas) but id love to see some powerful yatter action since the Japanese seem to be playing him alot.
Tekkaman really banks in on his simplicity to play and insane dmg but still hes got a few nasty tricks like j.2C cancelled into sonic boom spear!
yeah, and j.2C canceled into mash lance too, Ive fallen tons of time for that trick
Alls I know is that Joe is amazingly good. He has the tools to deal with any sort of playstyle, he’s got mixups galore, he pops out of tons of combos, he can get bars fairly quickly, he can combo fairly well, and he can deal pretty decent damage. His only downsides are his Six Machine Cannon (which has its uses here and there), his shitty assist, and his lack of ability to get decent DHCs. Other than that, he is a total beast.
Joe is very versatile, but IMO what hurts him is lack of reach. He has decent runaway, and decent rushdown as long as he’s in your face, but it’s very hard to get in the opp’s face when almost everybody else can play footsies so much easier with long or medium range moves.
Don’t forget that Joe’s mach speed super is pretty crap as well…but yeah, his lack of reach causes him to drop combos sometimes, too. Which is not nice.
He also gets infinited on either side of the screen by Karas.
Lol, poor Alex and Roll. They just can’t make decent tier positions, can they?
Roll is better than you think.
Yeah according to the only tier list that’s been out, Alex/Polymar are actually a tier down from roll. She can hold her own, although she’s definitely not high on the list.
For what I’ve seen, Joe’s assist can be used as a fake MC, well sort of, you can get hit from it and extend your combos.
Where can I find such tier list?
It was in tougeki damashii, and someone posted it up in this thread somewhere already. From what I remember it was something like this:
Top: Ken, Karas, Ryu, Chun
High: Megaman, Doronjo, Tekkaman, Jun
Mid: Batsu, Morrigan, Yatterman
Low: Roll, Casshern
Bottom: Polymar, Alex
Not Rankable: Giants
This isn’t totally correct, but I think it’s mostly there. It’s from the arcade version so that’s why there’s no saki, joe, daimao, ippatsuman.
I thought Mega and Tekka are top, Jun low, and Batsu and Yatter High?
is this the new one or that old one? it seems right and im a karas player but i think ken is so well rounded. ken deserves that number one mark but tekka and mega are better then ryu. ryu has a hard time hitting the ken, karas, chun, megaman, tekkaman and jun.they just out more mobile then him, just my two cents and the giants are not good or bad. i just wish more ppl played the game and no one in ga plays but me:sad:
i wish i had people to play it with too. my roommate just moved across teh country so i dont have an opponent any more.
Chicagoland tier list:
Top:
Roll
High:
Karas
Yatterman
Mid:
Ryu
Morrigan
Doronjo
Oh wait, those are the only characters anyone around here plays.
