The Wii isn’t region free. If you’re going to be arrogant you should know what you’re talking abotu first.
You’re right, but there’s no need to feed the trolls. I’ve personally really gotten used to people jumping in the various TvC threads and occasionally saying something like. “The wii is stupid.” Or “nobody’s going to play this piece of shit game anyways.”
As a hardcore Melee and Brawl player with only a wii, I can’t wait for this to come out in the states. I need another game to get competitive and go to tournaments for!!!
Haha, smash players love this game.

TvC was developed on arcade hardware that is virtually identical to the Wii home system. This makes porting games effortless, and assures arcade quality ports with minimal effort. Dreamcast and NAOMI are the same way. Porting this game to PS3 and Xbox360 may not be profitable in CAPCOM’s eyes.
-
Most of us use some type of arcade stick to play this game, so controls aren’t an issue. I use the Wii Hori Stick personally. You didn’t think this game had waggle controls did you?
-
The “true SF fan comment is just bullshit.” Your definition of what constitutes are true SF is as worthless and unwanted as your presence here at SRK.
-
We are looking forward to this game because its new features will make it the definitive version. There are going to be five new characters added, online and a number of character balancing tweaks.
-
The fighting game community needs more new players, casual or not. We all start out casual anyway. The more the merrier. As long as they don’t post ignorant bullshit like you do, they will be fine.
-
The Wii is not region free. Do yourself a favor and make sure you research a topic before you try to speak on it. We don’t need anyone feeding people wrong information here. Please take your Wii bashing nonsense out of our thread.
Yeah I think the main sources of excitement are:
-
hopefully this will be the definitive version of the game. If the balance could get even better than it is (ok/passable imo), and annoying glitches could be taken out, I think people would appreciate it.
-
New characters = new stuff to learn = more fun for those of us who have already played.
-
Easier to buy/use hopefully will mean more people will pick it up, casual or otherwise. Any increased interest in this game or the size of its community is more than welcome to me and I’m sure I speak for a lot of people who look at these boards.
I never said the game was shit or uninteresting, just that the wii is. I prefer mediums in which playing fighting games is enjoyable and not a hassle, but unfortunately it’s on the wii and wiimotes are not for fighting games.
You’re right. Wiimotes are not for fighting games. Arcade sticks are for fighting games. Unfortunately, no system comes packaged with arcade sticks. So remind me again, what is your point?
I’m not going to buy an arcade stick to play a video game. The playstation has a great controller for some casual level play with no frills or thrills, just straight up accessibility.
ok,
A) The PS controller is complete ass for FGs. No lie.
B) If you don’t even care about taking this shit seriously, why did you come to a dedicated fighting game site, to a board dedicated to discussing competitive strategy for this game, and decide to make a post about how you’re upset that this game won’t be coming to a different system? Go play tekken or something.

footage from E3…
ALL characters are in except 1 Tatsunoko character, this video proves it…
just click the video on his channel
No Daimao.
No it isn’t. It has the perfect layout for video games, probably moreso than any other controller out there. There is a reason changes have been more on the aesthetic side rather than the functional…it’s because it works.
???
I’ve been playing fighting games since before you were born, scrub. Just because I rarely peruse the fighting game boards - and I assure you it is for a good reason - doesn’t mean I don’t or never had an interest in fighting games.
there is a difference between playing fighting games and being a gamer, people usually come here because they want to step-up their games, become better and learn new things as well as share their info with other people who are deep into fighting games…at least thats why I come here
Why do people bring up the age thing as if it matters?
I don’t understand why you keep posting here. This is a site for hardcore fighting game enthusiasts. A few of us make a good amount of money off tourney winnings, and the best of us go on to represent the U.S. in national tournaments.
We are here because we want to up our games and compete on a higher level. This just isn’t possible without the help of a collective group, sharing information and pushing each other to higher levels every fight.
We like the Wii, and Tatsunoko vs Capcom. We are here posting in this forum for those very reasons.
You admitted yourself that you won’t buy an arcade stick to play a fighting game, and that a PS controller was good enough for casual play.
This site just isn’t for you at all. Go to Gamefaqs.com There are plenty of casual players there for you to converse with.
Age does not equal skill when it comes to fighting games. There are plenty of people who are younger than you, and haven’t been playing fighters nearly as long that will scrape you.
Dude, I’m an ex-high level tourney player from my area. You don’t even know who you’re talking to. I don’t play competitively anymore.
I understand the premise of the site, and I understand just how deep technical knowledge regarding fighting games can get. What you aren’t getting is that I don’t consider this stateside port to be worth it at all unless it goes to another console.
It would be nice to be able to play this over Live or PSN, but it’s prolly not going to happen.
Maybe if this game gets a sequel, it will hit all major platforms, but until then there is no reason to whine about something you have no control over.
You’ve stated multiple times that you hate the fact that it’s on the Wii, that it’s a waste, etc. Your not contributing to this thread at all.
I wish it was being ported just so I could play you online. I’d love to take on an ex-high level tourney player like you in this game.
Yeah, with it’s slow, mushy buttons, it’s analog stick way down in an awkward position, and it’s callous inducing d-pad, the playstation pad really is great for FGs, you’re right. It might be good for some games, but for fighting games it’s pretty much the worst thing ever.
Also yeah, before I was born. I’ve been playing FGs since world warrior, and I wasn’t just born then either, so you can go ahead and keep making cool assumptions.
If you don’t want to play it, don’t play it, but you don’t need to come in here and tell us about how you don’t want to play it. If everybody who wasn’t going to play TvC came in here and did that, it would get crowded pretty quick.
Also…oooohhhh…ex-high-level-local-tourney-player. Instant cred!
