TVC at Evo

i own a tekken 5 stick and a namco ps1 stick whats the best converter to plat tvc ps2 to wii converter i heard some of them have lag issues or do they all

The people should only use the Wii-mote to start the game, then unplug the sensor bar afterwards. I think it’ll prevent stuff like some random hobo pushing the HOME button of a random Wii mote to ruin a match.

People who want to play the game, listen to jimmy1200…

And may I also suggest investing in a used Wii console? It will certainly cost less than a brand new console.

That sounds like a really good idea, but there’s still the slight possibility of having syncing issues when someone with a wired stick (like myself) is finished and the remote needs to be re-synced. It’s looking like everyone’s just going to have to be really careful and double check to make sure their remotes are on the correct system.

I’m sure it’ll be fine. This isn’t the first Wii game to be played at Evo.

Wait… so we might not be allowed to use wii sticks?

Uh oh…

Darn. Ah well, if this is gonna be the case I need to get an adapter by 2011 haha.

I know a lot of people playing SF4 that only own one system but got their sticks dualmodded for PS3/XBox so it wouldn’t matter what system they are playing on. The thing about TVC is you’ll have to get a whole new stick. A lot of fighter players don’t even own a wii on top of that. I own all 3 systems personally and I have a PS2 stick, but my PS2 stick is Happ. I’ve been playing on a Sanwa stick ever since SF4 came out and I’ve become accustomed to it. So basically I’ll still need to buy/make a new stick for TvC. The player base for the game is, by default, going to be low IMO. It’s simply because it was brought out on Wii =/

You people are disgusting.

How many people bought an xbox or ps3 just for SF4?

TvC is a better game, and a Wii is hella cheap, and you can get a stick & converter for hella cheap too. This whole “it’s on wii therefore nobody will play it” attitude is bullshit. I hope the Smash community adopts this game, and brings out a more hype event than SF4 just to spite you lazy fucks.

hmm i just thought about this …

wil lthere really be a problem if evo staff just provide their own wii-motes per system and dont allow anyone else to sync to the wii
and competitors just plug in their their wireless stick to the wii-mote?

People are not made of money and those that bought a system just for SF4 have already spent a lot of it. Hell, buying a TE/SE stick alone is a huge investment for a videogame at least. We are not lazy just because we would rather not buy a stick/wii+stick to play one game. At least X360 and PS3 have other uses as media centers even if you aren’t going to play any other game besides SF4 on it.

If you got your stick dual modded with a cthulhu, you can easily upgrade that to an MC cthulhu and make a gamecube cable.

I don’t understand why theres still a discussion about the tvc stick. If the EVO people aren’t retarded, they’ll just have two wiimotes per wii (bolted down, and maybe chain them to the wii or whatever the wii is sitting on), and deal with whatever problems are needed to deal with when you go from two cc based stick to one cc / one gcn, or 2 gcn stick. There really should not be a problem in with anyone having a rogue wiimote that will fuck with other peoples games at that point.

There is still the problem with people not owning Wiis and being unable to practice the game.

then buy a wii

So uh buy a wii and fix the issue? Besides that I’m out of solutions

You obviously didn’t read what I posted above.

No I read it but I really don’t know what you’re trying to get at with it.

Then that’s their problem.
Even I don’t expect a huge turnout for TvC at Evo, but I believe the turnout will be noticable.
If people want to get practice in TvC…they’ll pretty much HAVE to get a Wii.
If they want to use an arcade stick…they will pretty much HAVE to get a stick for the Wii.

It’s pointless to cry to Capcom NOW about TvC being on the Wii.

I’m not saying anyone is crying to Capcom about TvC being on Wii. I’m simply saying that I think the turnout is going to be small because it’s on Wii. Well, a lot smaller than it’d be if it were for XBox and PS3.

I think this would be a good idea. Then keep the wiimotes off if the two players are using GC sticks/pads.

If you already have been playing on a Happ stick in the past, then it shouldn’t take long to get the hang of the thing again. Personally I think I may prefer Happ on tatsunoko (much as Happ/IL is preferred for Marvel) so I don’t know what the problem is.

Alternately, you could just mod the sanwa stick to work on Cube.

I haven’t checked in a while, but doesn’t the wiimote stay synced to the wii while a cube controller is plugged in? I think tatsunoko overrides the wiimote in favor of the cube stick, but the wiimote stays on and linked. And anyway, if it is perma-linked then you just have to turn it back on.

When I use my cube adapter it overides the wiimote as player 1 and eventually the wiimote turns off, If you turn it on while the cube is attached I dun know but in any case cus take out the batteries for good measure.
