So how do you go about practicing hit-confirming the counter-hit f. mk? In training mode I set it to it random counter hit then try to react to message with hitting crouch fierce. I know the combo timing but reacting to the message to hit a link that tight is pretty overwhelming. Is it something that comes with time or is there some method to think about?
My idea now is that I should hit the crouch fierce with combo timing, CH or not then confirm into the stand roundhouse upon seeing the message. Not sure how practical that is in a match though. Guess if they were blocking and suddenly got hit it would most likely be CH anyhow… I’ll mess with it more tomorrow.

If I were going to practice it that way I would set the dummy to random block, random counter hit. Doing it on reaction does come with time I guess. Although I think it is easier in a match. Another way to to record the dummy blocking for a bit and then crouch teching so you can practice frame traps / hit confirms / CH / etc.

It is easier because of the conditioning and you are setting yourself up rather than reacting.
Nah with f.MK in blockstrings you dont worry about getting that hit confirm into c.HP or f.MK.
Your highest priority is hit confirming into s.HK at all times.
Develop a reflex of going straight into s.HK from a counter hit above all things with f.MK

i don’t waste my time with bullshit like that. efficiency>flash. you have all day to hitconfirm into s.rh so doing that on reaction is hella easy. hitting c.hp on counter hit, either you’re not human or you’re throwing it out on a prayer hoping they pushed a button.
best thing to learn how to follow up with on counter hit is f.mp in footsies. it’s +6 and from max at the very least combos into s.hp. but from around mid hit, you can link into s.rh or c.mp and get an easy 230-350+ damage. personally i abuse the shit out of this in the corner cause it makes dudley a lot scarier from farther away and i don’t have to subject myself to always staying in their face. give em some room to hang themselves.
absolutely agree man. What may be the “best” combo may not be your best option. Keep it simple- Dudley gets enough damage anyway.

oh- sorry if we were being ass holes. I think its just a reaction thing and also a read thing. the more experience you have trying it the better you’ll get. it is a really good punishing option, but its tough.

It’s easier if you know that it’s already going to counterhit. In order to know that, you have to know what kind of defense your opponent is using. So if you’re doing cr. lp > cr. lp and they’re doing a delayed tech or pressing low strong, cr. lp > fw. mk should counterhit them. Just do fw. mk > cr. HP > st. HK xx if it doesn’t hit, cancel into ex duck or jab mgb or something. If they block the forward mk then they aren’t doing anything so you should just throw them or go for an overhead. This shits hard to do but it’s stuff like this that makes you truly a top player.

It’s when a low level player goes to a tourney and thinks he’s better than everyone that hasnt gone to a tourney yet.
It’ll calm down once he realizes the only difference between online and offline are nerves (granted you have a good connection)

I also think a difference (and the biggest one) is that you can hear what people are doing an react to it. (assuming they play on stick) you can also mash buttons that don’t work to make someone think your mashing. it might sound like it isn’t a huge deal but it really is, wolfkrone plays on pad just because of that reason.
when I play online I sometimes stop combos and block just to see if an opponent is mashing dp or jab or throw tech. it makes a huge difference.
