today i played a Crap load of ryu’s and everytime i knocked his ass down i went for SSB i avoided his shoryu 30% of the time but they always either jab,grab,low poke me out of SSB.Which SSB is better for avoiding reversals?
Medium short swing blow but you need timing. Not heavy because if they do a lp srk then you will end up behind them and you won’t be able to recover in time to punish them. Also depends on the character but against the simple srk users, “ryu, sagat” You want medium short swing. Against ken and seth I use heavy short swing.
Just a note about safe jump options selects. If you try to option select while in the air for the safe jump, it no longer becomes a safejump as of Arcade Edition. You’re forced to be in a vulnerable position for like 2 frames or something when you land. I’m like 80% on that, someone please check behind me.
Also. s.LK>s.MK>s.MP>s.HP builds half a bar on block.

ya, but 2 frames? I thought it was 1? so maybe that’s why I used to catch pplsoeasily when the jump over me with a char (non cross up) with my cr.LK>>> that’s pretty cheap.
if you’re making them block go for an overhead or something.
MK and HK Short swing blow are both -4 and -5
if people aren’t punishing either one then use them.
MK and HK go back much farther than LK and have more start up meaning there’s more room for error when timing since Dudley spends more time away from the opponent.
rewatch the end of Okizeme and look at the range and timing of the SSB.
go to training mode pick P1 as the character you want to practice against and p2 dudley.
Record a knockdown and use LK SSB at the right time.
Test vs all their reversals.
When you get good at LK SSB timing you’ll automatically be good at MK and HK SSB tming vs characters like Ibuki or Gen.
I suggest you spend lots of time on LK SSB and hit confirming into s.HK
When I release level 3. It’s gonna be hard to take it all in since most Lv 3 has to do with hit confirming and spacing

tl;dr
you get 4 “recovery frames” when you land
no move in air --> land = able to cancel recovery frames into anything
move in air --> land = first 2 frames are legit recovery frames
Then again this is from the SF wiki so who knows if this is even for SF.
