Jeremy - We haven’t been open daily in almost 2 months now. Can’t afford to pay staff, and I don’t expect people to work for free all the time. If you want to coordinate a set time each week and it works out for either Marvin, Blaaron or myself to be there. then awesome.
Marvin, Abe and Aaron work at the AIAB for free because they want to try and keep the place alive as long as we can, and with some hope we find a way of doing things that works in Tucson. Without the support of the fighting game community I would have just shut the doors months ago.

If we did an AIAB Godsgarden-style exhibition, maybe one or two fights per Friday, who would you like to see play each other (Tucson vs Tucson)? Is it something ya’ll would be interested in playing in/watching/etc? I’m sure there are some grudge matches we could run, like a run back of Ernest vs Blaaron ft10.
This could be just the beginning. It would be extra neat if we could do this with some of the Phoenix players too someday.

about the scene answer: i think far to little people really take it seriouslyout of all the cats in phx and tucson combinedmaybe we have say…50 or 60 playersout of all those cats. maybe like 16-18 of them are serious players

I recently have found out I’ll actually have normal working hours at Geico now, so soon I’ll be out at 430 every day, which frees up days for me to try and have get togethers at my place. I’ve been setting up my garage for awhile as an authentic man-cave, so I think it’s pretty much ready (aside from cleaning some extra shit up) for drinking and games. This is what I’m working with atm (it’s dirty, like a proper man cave, so it would be clean the day of the get togethers)
Right now I’ve got the old AiAB couch and a big ass Sony Vega on one setup, and behind that I have a 32in RCA with some random chairs. Only issue atm is that I only have one 2k2UM setup, so if we wanted to have both running someone would need to bring another setup for w/e they wanted to play. Otherwise the Vega is setup for PS2 only (Good fighting games stopped coming out past that imo). I also have 2 sticks that are modded for just about anything, one Korean and one an AiAB Sanwa Square Gate, so just about anyone will be able to play on it, unless you’re retarded like me.
In any case I am looking to have KoF get togethers some random night of the week. If not a lot of people show up I don’t really care, since I’m used to playing los mexicanos on GGPO all the time. I’m also open to other folks holding get togethers here, just they’d have to bring their own 360/PS3 if they wanna play anything on those. My PS2 itself is modded so if there is anything anyone else wants to play I either have it or will download it.

I haven’t gotten to play competitively just quite yet! But I’m there with diante I’m playing right now to learn and be one of the beat players i’n az! Sure it’s a long road but I’m gonna roll through it with punches and jaga kicks all day son! I’m also for the godgarden idea too! I think Ernest vs blaaron again would be tight and hella hype!
