If your in doubt with TA! fillers, just hold down the tag button for auto fillers. A lot of the people don’t really notice this mechanic
I know launchers, I know juggles, I know bounds, but what makes me lose in this game is my lack of Low/Overhead knowledge
shed some light on me guys
Notice? Shit I didn’t know it existed ~
What? Every attack classified as MID is an overhead in the 2D fighter sense, you can’t block it while ducking, and every attack classified as LOW is, well, a low, so you can’t block it while standing. It’s that simple. You can block special mids both standing and crouching.
MIDS: Attacks you have to block STANDING.
LOWS: Attacks you have to block CROUCHING.
HIGHS: Attacks that *can *be blocked standing, but completely WHIFFS if you CROUCH.
Generally, you want to block standing in Tekken, not crouching. You’ll take way more damage from getting hit by an occasional MID than by an occasional LOW. Its wierd at first if your coming from 2D fighting games, but you’ll get used to it.
Basically pushback kicks in a different amount of hits, so Alisa - BnB df2, b+1 WS 12 f+1 b+ 4,3 B! (call Jack) TA \o/ Ender. Your ender will be dependent on what you need, damage/carry/oki
You can shorten combo’s to bound early with Alisa and Wall carry with Jack TA thus allowing you more post bound. Jack is the same thing, just launch filler bound TA Alisa b 3+4 3+4 , ender…
Is it bad that I play TTT2 only in ghost mode to make my characters look pretty?
Come on people. Please stop making me merge threads. This is going in the TTT2U Questions and Complaints thread.
I dropped the solo idea ever since I realized ff+1+2 with TA is Bob’s best mixup option, and makes him much better than in solo.
Look, I appreciate the help but you guys aren’t getting that I don’t know what I ‘need’ or what to use to when I want damage / carry / oki for either character. TZ isn’t helping me in that regard either, in the meanwhile I’m just trying to find videos of either character though it’d be awesome to find one with them together. All I know is certain pokes with either character, one BnB for either character and that’s it. Outside of an absurd amount of trial and error I’m seriously at a loss for what I should be doing after a TA.
BnB with Alisa, call in Jack, \o/, … and then my brain just goes ‘now what?’
Hell I don’t even know where to TA in Alisa with Jack yet lol
Sorry, I’m not complaining about the help, just a bit flustered in trying to figure things out.
I know they said this game wouldn’t have customization on par with Tekken 6, but god-DAMN, man: at least allow us access to items that are in use on the pre-created costumes (Kunimitsu 2nd costume mask and tail) and muscle-shirts/wifebeaters for the dudes.
Just finish her combos post TA with running 2 Chibi. Jack ff 1 b! (call Alisa) …etc
I have a question about quick dashing in combos. For example in most of Bruce’s combos he has to dash in quickly after a bound and do something like f+3 or 3,2~f+1. Is there a trick to not getting a running move or do I just need to practice hitting neutral first? I tried doing f, f, b, f, for f+3 but then I’m too slow to pick them up.
To avoid having running moves come out, do it as f,f,N,whatever input. You only need to go neutral for like a split second. Bruce should stop a bit before proceeding with his attack
What criminal upper said, I tend to tap back first but there is more to it. In Tekken you can’t buffer many moves but you can buffer one forward before you last move ends. So with Bruce you can B! with db1 or whatever his bound is and time the first Forward in the dash before the move ends, then get a 1st frame dash up f+3. It is really weird at first but you get used to it, many characters have this issue so you have to get used to it. Just takes time…
Thanks. Gonna go grind this out.
How the hell are you meant to get out of pressure in this game?
Feels like every blockstrings only ever ends on frame traps into launchers, and I don’t have a clue when or even if ever I get a chance to stick even a 10 frame jab out when my opponent’s at close range.
If I don’t do anything and just block I just end up getting pushed to a wall and the pressure continues, and if I do try and punish anything it just results in a character being taken down to 30%.
I’m just at a complete loss on what to do here, if it’s any help I’m trying to play Leo and Paul, I know what their punishers are, just not how to actually get even the quickest ones in.
Edit: I know this sounds a bit ranty, but it really is a serious question, I can handle turtles and people poking midrange with relative success, but once somone is in on my ass my game just falls apart.
Few moves in this game leave at + frames on block. Just learn what you are up against slowly but surely. Yeah it’s not easy.
give specific examples because the answer(s) all depends on what you’re facing. you probably need to learn to sidestep, sidewalk, backdash, and/or crush just for starters. be more specific.
my complaint?
Ive never seen this much mashing in a game before…
