What is this?
Inspired by New York’s Skillionaire tournament series, The Throwback Series (TTS) is a way to inspire older and newer players to brush up on some selected classic fighting games in a competitive system that rewards points to players. These games include: JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure, Vampire Savior, Street Fighter Alpha 2, The King of Fighters ’98, Super Street Fighter II Turbo, and Garou: Mark of The Wolves. The games will primarily be played via GGPO (www.ggpo.net) or Supercade (http://damdai.com/supercade/Default.aspx) .

JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure - First to 10 matches = 1 point
Vampire Savior - First to 10 matches = 1 point
Street Fighter Alpha 2 - First to 10 matches = 1 point
Super Street Fighter II Turbo - First to 10 matches = 1 point
Garou: Mark of the Wolves - First to 10 matches = 1 point
The King of Fighters ‘98 - First to 5 matches = 1 point

The idea is to find players online in ANY scene, challenge them to a FT10 (except KOF98), and then report your results in the official TTS Facebook page
:
https://www.facebook.com/groups/455554791135727/# . This will be the easiest way for people to coordinate and keep up with results. Be sure to post your GGPO names so people know how to find you!

If this is successful, hopefully we can have bigger online tournaments for people to participate in with cash and prizes!!

When is this?
If this picks up, I hope to get a solid group of players to compete amongst each other on a weekly basis. At the end of each week, players with the most points from each game will compete against each other in FT10/5 matches, ideally in a tournament bracket. Because there are so many different players spread out throughout the different scenes in the country, the top matches can consist of players from different regions, therefore GGPO or Supercade will be the best way to fight. Availability and schedules are different for everyone, so there is no set time for these pseudo-tournaments. Ideally, however, these top matches would happen on Sunday night. This will be streamed through:www.twitch.tv/f_swipes

Where is this?
The matchmaking aspect will mostly be done via Facebook but any means of communication is fine as long as both players agree to do a FT10/5 for points. The easiest way to play as many players as you can will be via GGPO or Supercade You can find a link to the 4 games at the top of this doc. If players are fortunate enough to have offline fights in these games in their scenes, they can also play for points.

How does this work?
When a player wins a FT10/5 set, they are awarded 1 point. Players can participate in any of the 4 games. They can challenge any other player at any time as many times as they like. Just be sure to report who wins the FT10/5 sets! For example, if Player X challenges Player Y several times a day, tally up how many sets each player wins. The more sets you win, the more points you get.

BOTH PLAYERS MUST APPROVE OF THE RESULTS! Please tag your opponent in the Facebook post for them to confirm the result.

***The more players that participate in this, the bigger and better it will be!! These are all fun, competitive games that could use more love!!******Please post if you have any questions or advice on how to make this a better project. ***
