I know that I can’t make much of a strong proposal as others on this thread but hey I’ll do it anyways.
Shotos work really well with Lili but if you want some high-risk high reward action, play Akuma.
‘UGGGGHHH!’ I hear most people say but just hear me out.
Akuma arguably provides one of the stronger set-ups in the game for Lili in the form of his :hp: SRK. The thing hits real slow, it’s invincible unlike the other set-ups and it leads to some good damage for her to take advantage of.
You can get 474 maximum off of a single grounded :hp: SRK whilst providing a knock-down situation for Lili to take advantage of. This is without cancelling any normals into it beforehand.
Take this into account, quite a bit of stuff in this game is -3 on block so you’ll gain access to a -3 punisher that does up to 474 damage with one bar of meter and NO gems attached!
Or you can get slightly less but you can bring Akuma back in should she be low on life by doing a aerial launcher after her combo.
The combos I’m talking about here off of a tagged :hp: SRK
:qcb: :lk: > :hk: > st.:hp: > :qcf: :hp: > :f: + :mk: > :hp: for 474 damage.
:qcb: :lk: > :hk: > jump > :mp: , :hp: air target combo > :f: + :mk: > :hp: for 472 damage BUT you can stick a raw launch after the air target combo to bring Akuma back in if you so choose to.
Akuma can also LAME it out big time in comparison to other characters in the game. He doesn’t necessarily need meter to be effective but you can use it to augment his other strengths such as his zoning game as well as switching off of his overhead to bring her back in to do more damage.
I haven’t even mentioned the demon flip set-ups Lili sets up for him as well as Demon set-ups and the DAMAGE these two can do!
Unfortunately, and this is where everyone comes up and corrects me for this, Akuma’s health SUCKS, seriously someone with worse health than Lili!? So putting him on point is a very risky thing to do. You’ll have to build your meter quickly and get him out A.S.A.P so that Lili can go to work.
Both of their health limits aren’t very good either so simple hit confirms into Super can mean game-over quickly if you aren’t careful.
Of course there are also other weaknesses in the fact that you are susceptible to comments for those who have really sick minds in the fact that you run a relatively old man whose meals consist of beating the crap out of most people and living in a cave all day and a rich, french teenager together in one team…yeah you can kind of think of the things that people say to me sometimes when I go into endless lobbies from time to time.
Haven’t really messed about with an Akuma x Asuka team but I’m assuming that it is the same set-up quality wise. Just that Asuka has slightly higher health to make up for Akuma’s low health.
