Truth about Capcom "balancing Games"

I see the scrubs have come out of the wood works.

SSF4 is fine. It sucks playing a character that has to work twice as hard as another character to win some matches but thats the breaks.

All in all you win more if your better and lose more if your worst. even with bad matches ups… sounds pretty balanced to me.

SF4’s biggest problems have never been character balance. Not even Vanilla SF4.

If you think that’s bad, you should red this one series of posts by some scrub over at Unity trying to compare balance to ecological equilibrium and other BS. Same guy also complains about Dictator being weak in just about every post he makes.

that sounds fucked up

Tell me about it. Even the mods are pretty much tired of him and are likely just waiting for him to get into a flame war when someone calls him out for it to ban him

The truth about “Capcom” balancing games is that in another 30 years, 10 of which would have died out, Capcom would still be making multiple Street Fighter remakes inorder to find this balance which apparently is so confusing that the game will still be in 2D, we can all bet there will also still be charge characters. When the pro uber hardcore version of street fighter comes out, the controls will be a 5 time circle loop to use a command grab, a uppercut has to be executed within a micro second, counters would require you to use 5 fireball motions and combos can be infinite as long as you remember over a 100 different button sequence combo… Because we all know that DOA sucks ass…

White in Chess has a clear advantage.

you clearly dont play chess

No you don’t.
First-move advantage in chess - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

yeah because an advantage of 2 to 4 % over black is a clear advantage, plus you play both sides on a tournament so …

Double elm… you play both colors.

That’s a 6 to 12 percent.

I agree completely

Of course, that article also points out that it’s still a debated topic and that chess is still an unsolved game.

And you’d play both sides in a proper tournament.

Why are we comparing a turn based strategy game to fighting games?

Because this is a troll thread. And needs to be locked.

I like fighting games with a lot of 5-5 and 6-5 match ups to be honest. It means the guy with more skill with their character should come out with the win. I think it’s great knowing you beat your opponent because you were a better player not because you were using, say, Sagat from vanilla, to give yourself a much bigger advantage to cover up your lack of game skill.

I wish all of the characters were rock solid, since it’s a lot harder to win with Hakan,Makoto, and Dan over playing say Ryu, Abel, and Rufus. SSF4 is a hella great balanced game, but it seems the 3 characters I mentioned who are “low tier,” really weren’t given any love to be on the same level as the 3 who I said are good characters. Dan is fun to play, but I feel like I have one of my arms tied behind my back if I use him to compete to win with him. It shouldn’t be like that for any of the characters.

I hope those 3 receive some sort of buffs for arcade/patch balance in December. It’d be a shame if they don’t get anything, yet we get new characters who end up being way above them in effectiveness in matches. It’ll go further to prove Capcom DOES just want certain characters to suck nuts. I can’t agree with that mind set.
