TrueBlood

Episode was pretty dumb. Just stake Russell already.

I’m didn’t dig how TB segues into season after season with the finales before and I’m not digging it now.

It’s called a finale for a reason, there is finality to it. Not a “TO BE CONTINUED LOL”

The primary problem with this season, and in turn the finale, was that there are WAYYYYYYYY too many story arcs going on at the same time…you could easily support like 5 shows with the amount of arcs they have. That shit works fine on soap operas that run like 200+ episodes a year. It doesn’t work when you run 12 episodes then take a year break. Just bad planning, execution and writing.

SPOILERS!!!

Yeah I also felt there were too many story arcs, might be a problem in Season 5. We’re going to have witch doctors, possibly Lafayette becoming one too, Sookie’s relationship with Bill and possibly werewolf, Hoyt’s Mom coming for the kill, new Tara, Jason and the panthers, Bill vs Queen.

This episode was mediocre. I didn’t understand Eric allowing Russell to live. Godric was all just in his head though right? The one thing I’m thinking about most though is the Baby Doll. WTF! Please no weird shit. I waiting for Hoyt and Jess’s wedding with Mama and Summer coming with shotguns with wooden bullets. Jess better not die though. Why in the world did Sam have to shoot his brother, could’ve fought him as an animal or something and apologized for what he did. I liked him way before all that anger emotional issue stuff happened last episode.

Liked last season’s finale better. Had more finale to it and a cliffhanger I cared about.

I think the season finale did it’s job in leaving the audience with a cliffhanger… actually there were several cliffhangers… several too many cliffhangers. The writers seriously need to cut some fat and focus on telling a more cohesive storyline.

Cuts I can think of:
Yeah, yeah, Jessica is cute, but do we really need more screen time dedicated to her and Hoyt and their little soap opera drama? SNORE Looks like we’re going to get more of that in the next season. Maybe it won’t be so bad if suddenly Jessica just can’t seem to keep her darn shirt on. lol

Lafayette… yeah, he’s one of my favorite characters in the whole freakin’ show, but he is still severely underutilized. It looks like the writers have no idea what to do with him and now we got this ‘witch doctor’ angle. Maybe they will decided to stick with this story and we finally get to see him in a stabilized role, if not just drop it.

Speaking of all over the place; Tara… again, one of my favorite characters, but this girl is ALLL over the place. Wait, never mind, they seem to be going somewhere with her. Hopefully it’s for the better when she comes back-- IF she comes back because this poor girl has probably been put through more messed up bullshit than anyone on the show.

Sookie and Bill. Seriously, I know this won’t happen, but please END these two. Separately, they aren’t so bad, but together, I just want to kick my TV through the window. If they have to be together on screen, have them as enemies because I’m not buying this love affair crap.

well after that last fiasco i think the Bill and Sookie headache is finally over. but you gotta admit Bill showed mad heart this season. he been catching bodies everywhere and even tried to kill eric and put an end to all that bullying he takes from eric. i just hope they dont immediately shoot from sookie fucking bill to eric cause that would be a snore as well.

True Blood just has bad writers, plain and simple. Unless they fire their entire writing core and hire people who can write their way out of a wet paper bag, the show is going to continue this horrible decline into shit…

Yeah, they fucked up on Sam hard. He didn’t have any of this “dark past” bullshit in the books, but I guess Alan Ball couldn’t handle having at least one “good guy” who was, well, actually good.

I knew it was going to have a lot of dangled threads as soon as they confirmed season 4 before 3 even really started.

I don’t know how much involvement Allan Ball has in the overall say of things, but this season finale was disappointing. The ending left us with nothing of substance. I’m not going to say that this is a bad show, but the last couple of episodes seem to have been all the same. It’s like a whole buch of themes just repeating over and over again on repeat.

Guess we’ll see what the year long break brings us…

That’s how I felt. I mean wtf was Godric popping up for? Since when did vampires have souls that could revisit the earth? This ain’t Castlevania Dracula so please cut them loop holes out. And Sam just needs to stay a GOOD GUY. He balanced out everyone else. That is unless werewolf dude is now the GOOD GUY. And between the Fellowship Of The Sun and the VRA, do we really need Russel to be alive? That’s enough serious subject matter right there.

Props to Bill for this finale though. For such a relatively young vampire he is always so willing to kick anyone’s ass/outsmart them over some fairy pussy.

After cramming all of True Blood in the last two months I’d have to say that season 2 was my favorite so far. Mary Anne was a trip and really brought it all together at the end.

Godric popping up was just to show how much more badass he is than everybody. Again.

And yeah, that shit they pulled with Sam was beyond retarded. WTF writers.

How is godric badass? Dude’s a hippy.

Extreme hippy. Dude might as well be a fairy now. Shit even then fairys aren’t afraid to kill mofos.

Best part of this whole episode was watching Talbot Gore go down the disposal with Sooki’s evil laugh. I can see Anna Paquin practicing that in the mirror with Stephen walking by like “Ehhh not demented enough. Go for a more ‘possessed with evil’ look honey.”

Jessica and Hoyt sure are gay for each other.

But the bright side is that something interesting will happen between them involving their newly bought house and Hoyt’s mother getting a gun.

Actually, the more I think about it, the gayer this arc could get.

Lol

[details=Spoiler] tricking Tera into eating a heart souffle.

To above what do you mean Hoyt and Jess are gay for each other, that doesn’t make since. Oh you must mean that they’re happy for each other. I haven’t heard people use it for it’s original meaning in a long time. Though your second sentence with the word confuses me again. Do you mean better?[/details]

Managed to catch the 1st 2 episodes of season 4.

I’m a bit weirded out, but I’m eager to find out where this goes.

They have a season 4 thread but I don’t think any has posted anything in it lately. I think people on SRK have gotten bored with the show. I still like it. :looney:

It’s still a pretty good show but with all the cable stuff I’ve seen since then like Spartacus, Boardwalk Empire and GAME OF THROOOOOOONES True Blood really needs to step their game up.

they need to bring in some new uber-vampires for tier list discussion

and bring back russell edgington

stuff is lame right now

I still watch it faithfully but yea ill admit its stock is starting to fall. I’ll see how this season plays out then ill decide whether to drop the show or not.
