I called that Godrick was toast (literally). I wasn’t sure how he was going to go out, but I knew he wouldn’t be around much longer, although it would’ve been nice to see more of him… perhaps we’ll get to see him in flashbacks back when he didn’t give a fuck.
Ah, Lafayette… I’ve said it before, I’ll say it again, he is without a doubt my FAVORITE character on the show, human or otherwise. Dude barely gets any screentime, but when he does, he just dominates.

There was one point where they didn’t subtitle Godrick, but I guess it wasn’t really necessary since the words were so alike english.
Anyway, Godrick said “fader, broder, son”(Swedish) which obviously means “father, brother, son”.
The “father” doesn’t make much sense imo though, I mean Godrick is the father if anything.
His pronounciation isn’t great, but I think the actor is Danish. His D’s sound like T’s.
Actually, I think “ftter” is cousin in danish, so maybe he’s actually speaking danish there making it “cousin, brother, son”, which would make more sense.
I think it’s inferred that godric could have owned her, same with eric. She doesn’t have much personal power, just she’s on tv, and can have the “uppers” lay down some punishment, or justice.
You’re right. She doesn’t have more personal physical power than Eric or Godric. Although it’s quite obvious that her power stems from bureaucratic power of the media and her being the representive for the upper echelons. That’s the ONLY reason that bitch was able to talk shit to Eric and Godric and the rest of the vampies in the room who were more than likely older than her w/o fear of repercussion.
Godric turning into blue dust instead of a crispy critter was the way to go… made it a lot more epic and drove home the whole “I’m an old ass vampire so I’ll go quickly” thing.
Me and my friend were cracking up about that one last night. It was my favorite, not necessarily the line itself, but the line and Hoyt’s actions.
My favorite from Season 1 is when Sam is avoiding Maryann and she finds him and corners him in his office in Merlott’s. He throw’s the bag down thinking everything’s even and cool not knowing that she wants tributes and she says:

Just the way she says it is kinda like those old 30’s gangster flicks where they’d be like “Ehh ehh you shcee (see)” You just gotta hear it again to get what I’m talking about. She says it playful and like those flicks. I can’t stop saying the money line randomly and everytime I laugh to myself. Call me crazy but it’s still got “that thing” to it for me. To her it’s not even just the money but she still want her tributes she’s “entitled” to being a maenad and all.
