True Kara Demon Help

The demon speed for a true kara would be something like - you hit your opponent with a jab and before you even see the RECOVERY animation for that FIRST jab, the demon comes out. Or maybe I should say you barely see the jab hitting your opponent before the demon comes out. Its more like you HEAR the jab hit then you instantly hear the demon start.

Empty flip demon is about spacing the final towards, lk and HP properly. You time the jabs correctly from what I’m guessing so the problem is in the remaining three. Try this - time those last three inputs with the same timing that you would use for Yun’s 123 target combo (not the mp, HP, b+ HP one). His 123 can be done slowly and fast as well - aim for the slower version.

Alright thanks, I’ll be at the arcades tomorrow getting this stuff down. Thnx all

Damn TKD’s as I’ve been playing more Ken recently I’ve lost the ability to do them consistantly cause I’ve focused on learning kara srk’s (which are WAY easier than TKD’s) more instead of pracitcing TKD’s. But honestly, I have found that you can infact confirm the SGGK demon off of the parry quite easily reagrdless of whether you do ith with a kara throw or the over head and I find this demon sufficient as the only one in my play now. Sometimes I’ll still use the cr.lk kara but Toronto players are really good and I can no longer land cr.lk tick demon or s.mp tick demon let alone dash demons becuase they can counter on reaction to the setups. So I basically have to guess weather to demon or fake it and do an AA move after the tick which is risky. I find the only demons that REALLY work on high level players are TKD’s anti-airs and SGGK’s and honestly I just find the TKD too inconsistant to rely on, but perhaps my execution just sucks. I used to beable to TKD about 75% but now I can hardly do it at all because I simply stopped practicing it.

for some reason im still getting it on the first hit…Mmmmm

but somtimes i notice when i do Dive-kick KD, i do it bit to early & his hand is just emerging from his waist…so i guess i ve just got to get faster.

if your getting it after the first hit just keep speeding it up, you just need to do it faster, like i stated before it is REALLY hard.

Wow this is actually getting some what easier, I can do it about 50% again which is enough to use in matches since a fucked up one is simply a command overhead. The trick is really to do it quick enough that if you fuck up it doesn’t come out rather than it comes out too slow and subsequently after the first hit of the zugai hiatsu.

As difficult as it is TKD’s are definately not impossible nor impractical. I’m some what suprized we haven’t seen it from any of the other Jap players besides Jiro, or even PaulT/ JR. Despite how difficult it is to perform I think it’s one of those moves that will become quite reliable once mastered. Even though I would say TKD’s are much harder than kara SRK’s (I can do both, kara SRK’s quite well) I think that in the end we will find that the TKD will be more consistant than kara SRK as it relies on insane speed and accuracy of execution rather than single frame spacific timing.

I’ve gotten fairly consistent with true karas now. I was thinking of maybe doing another button tutorial with the method shown a bit more clean, not ghetto :bgrin:

Unfortunately, like diablo mentioned somewhere, you’ll most likely land it once against all your local comp, but then the good ones will never fall for it again. Unless of course you have the mental speed to pull it out in any situation where you would otherwise go for a kara throw.

Good side is that it opens up some serious mind games which are in your favour.

Quick dash demon still seems to get the highest connect rate in my games for some reason.

same for me. dash/quick dash demon represents 60/70% of the demons I land; and in the 30% of kara left, about 85% is a true kara after a parry. reason being that once people know that you can do it fairly consistenly, they’ll start doing jumps or try to hit you out of it(hence the parry into true kara).
thing I noticed: you only need to land one true kara and one parry if they try to hit you out of it to seriously fuck up one’s person mind BADLY. they WILL only think about jumping out of it, even 10 matchs after. and even if you hit them in the pre-jump animation, they will try to jump the next time like there is no other option. that why i love true kara. pure fear.

God, i love playing gouki.

i’ll upload a funny parry into true kara i’ve found quite a while ago. i call it the teleport demon. if you land it, you’ll have to take a snapshot of your opponent’s face. it’s priceless.

Alright, I’ve done it a total of five times now.
I use four fingers tapping both mp and fierce with the ringfinger.

Thought I cannot use this in gameplay some time, but still now I know I’m doing it right!

Just do it the ghetto way Naz described, that is the easiest way to do it. Also it is near impossible on P360’s or Happ Compititions, but it is considerably easier on a JPN style setup with either a sanwa or seimitsu stick and decent buttons.

What’s the problem w/ Happ/p360 stuff? Need to know.

For me the sticks move around and shake too much for this, especially the P360’s, with a JPN stick you can do the forward motions eaiser because the stick goes back to neutral by itself, on a P360 i have to bring it back to neutral before doing the second forward and they dont work well with the downforward method. Basically I can do it almost perfectly now on JPN sticks and on command in matches whenever i want but i cant do it at all on the USA style setups.

p360’s suck. I have no trouble with happ comps

i got the button tapping down for the kara demon except i use my ring finger for the mp not the middle one. but i just cant to get the stick in sync with the button tapping. whats the deal? any help?

naah man i was hittin the hp before the lk  gettin better now

WTF!!! I am so F***ing happy right now. ok here the deal i saw this thread i know what the tkd is and have done it on a stick not much and not during match but i use to play on a ps2 controller all the time and still do from time to time so for fun i tried it mess with the config a lot and i do mean a lot to find a easy was to do it but i know that i can do the dashing demon with default so after f***ing around for like an hour and looking a more tips on here some how i did that shit (idk if you don’t believe cause i WILL sleep better tonight know i did that shit) just so you know the config was mp>L1 {} {} X O. so in the end all i did was make L1 mp and O fp. when i put it like this at first i would get it off on the first hit so i know i just had to do it faster and i like it this way cause {} X O after hitting {} 2time i just did a qcb one the buttons. so yeah i did it. it was fun but i am NEVER doing it again f*** that i just had to try so if i can do it you can too. it is not impossible

Calm…

…down…please

my bad man im chillin now

think of the TKD as 2 chunks foward mp with a kara jab is the first chunk, jab (i usually use my ring finger for mp then double tap the jabs with my middle finger then pointer, w\e floats your boat) down foward lk fp also kara speed. and if you’ve got sanwa parts hit the buttons so light they hardly go down at all, just enough to register , i’m sure you know but thats not much with sanwa. but really all ya gota do is practice it over and over and over and…

the reason i say think about it in 2 chunks is 9 outa 10 times i mess the TKD up is not getting my finger off the button for the first jab tap then attempting a double tap. get that first tap outa the way fast
