Trouble Connecting Online. Please help me :-(

I connect my PC to the internet just fine. I am on right now as you can see. When I unplug my Ethernet cable from my modem and plug in my 360 ethernet cable into the modem, it doesn’t connect. When I do the test, it doesn’t even get passed the first step.

I can’t think of what I am doing wrong, I want to play CoD and SF4!

I don’t want to hijack your thread or anything, but I figure since my question is related it’d be better to stick it in here than make a new thread.

I’ve got my 360 hooked up to my PC’s router and configured the connection manually. I can connect to the internet/XBL just fine, but whenever I go looking for matches in SF4 everyone shows up with zero bars. Anyone got any ideas?

Unplug your modem for about 5 mins like make sure that the modem is off the put your xbox ethernet cord in and turn your modem on. After that it should work.

Open up the ports in your router to let XBL in? Just guessing.

Yes, Frantastic is right, but you dont need to leave it off for 5 minutes. 20-30 seconds should do the trick. You will most likely have to do this when you plug your router back in too. Always power up the modem first, then the router.

It doesnt matter with the 360. You should be able to leave that on either way. Works for me when I do it.
