I didnt touch fighting games at all before MM, in fact MM was the first time I had any real games in SF4 since CC. I find that taking breaks from games isnt always bad, it can help break patterns or bad habits. The way I see it, being good at fighters is like riding a bike…you never really forget how to do it.
