I have another question. Why are there 2 ground wires in a USB cable? Do I even need both? Are they even both wired at the other end?

Can someone help me identify these wires from wii cord? There are 6 lines. I’m guessing the top is VCC and bottom is Ground. Not sure which one is SDA, SCL and DET.

If you’re using the detachable solution, those go on their own port and don’t get joined at all with the other pcb

speedsterharry is right. The shield is intended to ground out the connector before the signal connections can touch.

I do it the opposite way of FreedomGundam.

Actually I only did that once. It is kind of a pain in the ass.

Hello,

I finished the mod over the weekend and thought I’d share some pictures. I swapped the TE PS3 pcb with my TvC Wii pcb (so I can use TvC as a backup PS3 stick). Used TvC wii pcb + Paewang on TE + Neutrik RJ45. I ended up just using the Select button hole for the Neutrik. Wiring is obviously J&J superwiring style. My friend had some felt so I used that for the bottom panel.
