Street Fighter III Third Strike Tournament Fee-$5.00
Marvel versus Capcom 2-$5.00
Guilty Gear XX non-Slash Tournament Fee-$5.00
Ratio 4: $1.00
Marvel Challenger: 50c to winner (explained below)

Side tourneys guaranteed 100% gonna happen:
Ratio 4 tourney in cvs2 since this is the only fun thing left to do in this peice of shit

And PRESENTING A NEW SIDE GAME:

MvC2 single character new challenger
(this as well as ratio 4 will get taped in all likelyhood)
Heres how it works:
i will ask around to see who the supposed best players are per character
ie whos the best sentinel, the best storm etc etc and will devise a ranking system
i will bring this to the tournament
IE:
Sentinel - Gerjay
Cable - G3nn
Storm - Jiggabry
etc
etc
note that if u think u are the best with a character, pm me telling me and i’ll add you. this tournament helps cuz more people will come to play once theyve said theyre the best.
Now the challenge system:

lets say g3nn picks sent/cable/mag and gerjay picks MSS
now the game will go on as normal. But each player’s ONLY goal is to eliminate the other players sentinel before the other eliminates his sentinel. IE g3nn will snap gerjays magneto out and bring sentinel out at all costs and kill him. it does not matter who wins the actual match so for example:
G3nn: Gerjay:
sentinel |=| sentinel DEAD
cable DEAD mag |===================|
mag DEAD storm |=====================|
G3nn wins this because his sentinel is alive.
You are allowed to challenge for any character ONCE in this tournament, but u can accept as many as you wish (note you MUST accept a challenge or else the other player takes the crown automatically)

IDEA NUMBER 2: (which makes more sense)

players pick their teams consisting of the character theyre playing for (ie Spiderman), and place him as their first character. Then they fight, but are not allowed to DHC, or switch out, and the opponent is not allowed to snap them out either. Assists are still allowed of course and so forth.

the loser must pay the winner 50 cents regardless of who challenged who.
This is important to remember so people dont spam themself as number 1 with every lowtier character.

you do realize that this is the same date as TGA vs. Team Canada and that Gerjay, Jiggabry, and a lot of the top players from Canada will be in the USA to play us, right?

"My first post has been updated. GTASF Team #1 has been finalized while a second contingent is in the works. I created what I thought was the most balanced team across all games:

Ratio1beatdown (Primary game: CvS2)
JS Master (Primary game: CvS2)

The 3rd Strike side of things seems off to people that don’t know us but it’s pretty strong. JS and DarkDragon have both placed top 16 at ECC in 3S (ECC9 & ECCX respectively). AneurysmX placed 4th at MWC2K6. The second contingent is pretty much only 3S players as well and will likely include YellowS4, Darkgigas & Gaijinblaze among others.

It was only two weeks ago when Nagata posted that. Then he tried to post and say that he was thinking about not going because Smoothcat and Nestor were talking nonsense about not going (which they both are). But he never definitively said he was backing out in the thread…

…so I have to read this over here, which is pretty lame. Gavin worked pretty hard to set this up and now it’s not going to go down because Nagata is having some personal problems a couple weeks before the event, and decides to not even tell us that Canada isn’t coming.

Fucking lame. But when it comes to Street Fighter, I guess a lack of respect is pretty commonplace these days. At least I’m glad I brought this up now so people won’t be disappointed come the 6th.

I elected to pull out of the event after Team Hate couldn’t get their act together and it put me in a position of taking time off work unpaid and organizing our players for something that may or may not go down the way it was supposed to when it first started. It’s a big investment for us to make a 10 hour drive to an event that may not have the best players to play against. I didn’t even see Nestor make a follow up post saying he’s changed his mind (I don’t track related threads if it was made there) nor do I know if Joel can even get the day off work.

My lack of saying anything up to this point has nothing to do with respect. There are players who still want to attend and are finalizing plans to make sure they’ll have a car and funds to do it. For me to announce that the GTASF wasn’t attending while another respected member of the group looks to be able to take the reigns in my place would have been hasty on my part. When I know (or he knows) whether the GTASF can still attend in the next day or two, we’ll post when we have something concrete to actually say. Anything else would be speculation at best and not worth ruffling feathers.

also didn’t we also have the conversation about you contacting me if you had any further questions, after the first time this happened a month ago? i have contact information for every major player going to TGA and i could give you an answer in 2 seconds for anything you ask. the problem is, you didn’t ask. instead you speculated and didn’t post and then made a rash decision.

people are literally IMing me today saying “should I even bother to go to TGA now that Canada isn’t going.” I think we need to talk about this further. you know where to reach me.

i had a terrible dream today
i was playing as cammy versus ryu in cvs2
and he kept doing point blank uppercuts and id bait them and try to grab him
but id get counter grabbed back and id scream “WHAT THE FUCK!” everytime it happened what a fucken nightmare.

that marvel best char things doesnt make sense.

we can haev someone claiming he has the best storm, and he use msp. It possible that he beats the challenger using only his mags, and not using storm at all. or liek use storm for like 10% of the game. how does that make him the better storm player? and is 50 cents to the winner of the game, or winner for the better char?

ethier way, put me down for best spiderman.

okay for example g3nn challenge me. and he picks mag, sent, and spiderman. i use spiderman, cable, capcom. i sure his mag can kill my spiderman, beforei reach to his spiderman. in fact, he prolly can kill my whole team using mag, without using spiderman at all. how does that make him the better spiderman player?

makes more sense if u have the 2 player use the char as the first player, and they have to see who kill the other player’s char first, without allowing switch or dhc.
