I’m having a little difficulty with this trial. I can’t seem to link the 4 c.lp together cause the Dummy always blocks after 1 or 2 of them. I can get the EX Drop no problem, just not the 4 c.lp.
Any suggestions?

Here’s a video of it being completed, it’ll help to watch if you haven’t seen it.

cr.LP’s have strict timing to link together. Make sure you start very close to the training dummy. Spend some time just practicing the timing of linking cr.LP’s together, as well as linking cr.LP into cr.MP. For the Izuna Drop part at the end, make sure you are steering into your airborn opponent very close, and holding the direction towards them when you hit any punch to drop them.
Start off by practicing the combo with only one cr.LP and then work your way up.
If you can do:
cr.LP > cr.LP xx Ex-FBA > Izuna Drop
or
cr.LP > cr.MP xx Ex-FBA > Izuna Drop
then its just a matter of trying it again until the full combo connects:
cr.LP > cr.LP > cr.LP > cr.LP xx Ex-FBA > Izuna Drop
Usually you wont do so many in a real match, but the trial helps you get the link timing down. Try to use things like the animation of Vega’s arm coming back, or the sound the slash makes, to help time the next one. There’s a rhythm to it! Also, please post questions like this here:

What controller do you use?
TE Stick “S”
Cool. Put your stick’s lp on turbo and hold the button in, don’t tap it!
The 4 hit combo will be a formality…you will get the link and trial in 5mins…guaranteed.
Remember: Turbo in trials is ok(it’s just to get icons/titles/achievements). Turbo in vs. (both online and off) is DEFINITELY NOT COOL! LOL
No way, you gotta pass the trials legit! What’s the point otherwise?
Honestly Meteo, I play percentages and would never use this particular combination in a battle situation, so I don’t have too many scruples with using turbo merely to complete his trials (to gain titles/icons/acheivements etc.). I do, however, kind of agree with what you’re saying and in a perfect world, where I didn’t have a full-time 60hr-a-week incredibly stressful job, full-time relationship, mortgage, family, friends and an active social life, I would definitely have more time to make an extra effort to perfect every aspect and nuance of Vega’s game and strategy, rather than the ones that I find immediately practical and useful…
I never, for instance, ever use a strategy guide or cheat code in any of the (admittedly quite few) non-SF titles I play (Halo, Zelda, Resi and Mario).
PS: A big problem I had in SFIV, was, that a lot of inferior Vega players seemed to have all his titles and icons, whereas I was stuck on Hard trial 1 for nearly a year. When I eventually completed his trials (in Janurary) I was so used to, and associated with, my title and icon (Snake and Devilish) that I decided to stick with them…
PPS: I completed all his trials in SSFIV within an hour of purchasing the game.
I still use the Snake and ‘Devilish’ as my in-game sig…
i gotta agree here. it really comes in handy with timing if you get that shit down. I use cLPx3 or cLPx4 to poke and counterpoke. if hit confirmed i’ll add ex izuna to it as well.
as far as actually hitting the combo legit… start it with jHP, then hit cLKx4, cMP and ex izuna. this isnt an easy combo (i practice this everyday and still cant nail 100% but i hit it more times than not). if the cLP is blocked you need to press cLP sooner, if it doesnt come out, you need to press cLP later. just go through the whole combo even if it’s blocked or all the hits dont come out. get used to doing the combo and not mashing. give it a couple hours and you should have it down
Practice makes perfect, learn from your mistakes, try again.
If something didn’t work, u did it wrong, so think about what you did and try to alter it to see if you can figure out the timing. It is a useful link to use in a match, so it is worth learning the timing unlike some of the other trials for other characters. If you still can’t get it, move on. Just play the game and come back to it in a few days, you’ll realize that your timing gets better without even realizing it
