Treme

Please tell me that I’m not the only one who is really digging Treme? It’s made by the same guy who made The Wire if that means anything. Anyway, this is a outstanding show. Set in New Orleans 3 months after Katrina, it basically is about people in the Treme neighborhood of New Orleans trying to get things back in order. Very well done show.

It’s on HBO Sunday nights at 10 btw.

Nope, I’m watching it to especially because I am from New Orleans. It started off kind of slow, but it’s really picking up now.

I love this show because it feels ‘real.’ More than any new shows that I’ve seen.

Besides that, John Goodman’s character is top tier.

FUCK YOU YOU FUCKING FUCKS!

been watching it . i don’t think they go hard enough on how much Baton Rouge sucks, though.

also if you ever go to Mardi Gras, John Goodman is always on one of the floats throwing beads and cups.

I can’t wait until this show ends so that we can start referring to alumni members of its cast as “ex-Treme actors.”

Saw a bit of one episode the other day. Definitely going to have to pick it up from the beginning. Problem: John Goodman isn’t threatening death over bowling rules.

Only caught the first episode, but if it’s picking up then I’m gonna have to start watching again.

BTW…was there ever a thread for The Wire here? It’s hands down the best show to exist IMO, it should really get more recognition.

Last night was probably the best episode (so far).

Totally hooked on this show.

Man thats kinda harsh don’t you think. Baton Rouge isn’t that bad. Yeah there isn’t much to do but its an ok place to live. You would think that people would be more grateful to the city that housed a lot of people who were displaced…

They shit on Houston too.

I’m digging it. The only thing that annoys me are “The Wire” fans that bitch about how this show isn’t “The Wire”.

GET OVER IT.

thanks for showing everybody exactly why BR is shit. you want people to give you props? stroke your ego? because you housed some people? Shreveport housed people too. i’m in Monroe. we housed people too. at least i can admit my city sucks. BR fools have their heads too far up their asses to be able to admit their town has some serious issues. yes, poor N.O. folks should be grateful to live in tents inside Tiger Stadium or where ever the hell they were placed. God bless you, Baton Rouge for having the benevolence to not stand by and let ALL the people in your backyard die. fuck. your. city.

Here we go. So because Baton Rouge has its issues and didn’t have enough room for EVERYONE from N.O to live in an air conditioned home and the city is shit now. Lets see how your city would manage with more than twice as many residents. You make it seem like Baton Rouge was this super large city that didn’t want to house people from new orleans. Fact of the matter is that it couldn’t handle that many people. Hence they had to go somewhere else. I swear, you uppity ass people need to get off you fuckin high horse. And yes, as shitty as New Orleans is if Baton Rouge went through some tragic shit and I had to move to N.O I would be fuckin grateful for a place to rest my head and be safe. Kinda fuckin person complains when people are trying to help?

I’ve enjoyed the show since day one. The music got me started, and now that the story is picking up I’m a regular. John Goodman is funny as heck.

Definitely a fan an good to see some of the WIRE and CSI cast taking in a different role so they wont be typecasted. Even john goodman is doin a damn good job… damn good show. slow at first but remember… thats david simon way of working characters on you. love the fact people get to see the second line an big chiefs… trust me its even better in person and definitely when the ‘old’ new orleans was around.

I’ve never been to Baton Rouge in my later years, I’ve only ever been there as a kid so I can’t vouch for wehter or not it’s good. I did have good times there as a kid with my cousins and stuff. I can’t remeber the last time I was there, but I always thought it was a live and bustling city. Not like New Orleans, but not backwater by any means. Is it really that bad there?
