has anyone seen the ex rolling knockdown? Because the way they explain it to me the ex blanka ballay cause some kind of crumple state tO allow more hits after the fadc.

Heck right now you can do non meaty oh into ultra, if they are standing, but not blocking. Wish it’d work on crouchers.

How much it has active frames ? (both rock crusher)

Yeah, that really is such a weird thing. An OH combo that only works when someone is standing, and not blocking…makes perfect sense!

Assuming you’re talking about the ex horiball, I asked the same question before. I don’t think any of the loctest vids had any Blanka’s doing close range EX horiballs, let alone EX hori -> FADC. You would think they would want to test all the new changes.

Yes ex hori blanka ball close up must cause blowback/crumple action so you can extend combo’s. 3 bars for how much damage is what we need to know to gauge if it’s worth doing that combo or is it worth having all of your ex meter for ex upball reversals?

Just had a brainstorm.

What if ex hori ball didnt knock down, but gave blanka large + frames, enough time to focus attack level 2 crumpple, dash forward ultra.
Makes ultra 2 more useful, which i think most blanka players would say its kinda ass except in a handful of matches. Allows a big ultra combo on many characters that is easier than ultra 1.

Just thoughts, but perhaps plausible. Kind like how dhalsim fp fireball knocksdown, but ex fireball leads to combos and mixups.

This is what I think the ex ball will do. I doubt it will allow level 2 focus. If that happen that would be a HUGE BUFF!! The combo’s an set up’s you can do off the crumple of the lvl 2 focus would be sick!

that would only require 3 more frames of hitstun as it currently works on CH, so not too shocking. It’s actually what I wanted for horiball originally when AE changes were first brought up.

I dont think a level 2 focus crumple possiblities are too out of line.

A: It costs 3 fukin METERS!!
B Many other characters have something similar in the corner, like for example seth can do a level 2 focus crumple after fireball~focus attack.

Least it gives me a reason to use all that meter I save. I kinda hoard meter. I dont like super combos, bc they dont do enough dmg for the meter lost - i.e., I feel defenseless. I rather use ex upballs balls or fadc my electricities.

Its either fadc level 2 possibilities, or fadc short jab ball type stuff.

Amazing that in the location tests, nobody has tested ex ball.

japan is too overrated in this game.

I hoard meter too, I get a lot of C’s on the ratings for it. Combos to super do really good damage(400ish damage even off of a short short hit confirm) though and you can get an ambiguous jumpin after or even an unblockable so it’s worth it to go for.

the frame data works out to where they are one and the same really for crumpling/comboing.

Also it’s not like all of the loctest was filmed.

Oh, and ves, while the total combo does like 400 dmg, how much additional dmg does the super give on top of the combo damage already dealt? I am not at home, so I can no test, but Im guessing short short ball super, the super does about 200 damage tops. While nothing to snort at, certainly, especially if that wins the round, if its in the middle of the round, blanka is kinda at a loss defensively, which im not sure is worth the 200

short short jab xx hp ball does 168, super does 408 so +240. if you had done elec the combo would have done 182 so plus 226

It is +200 damage once you get up to 5 hits before the super, which will rarely every happen.

Anyways the post super mixup is very good, and even if the jumpin is blocked, a string of something like j.mk, st.lp xx hp elec, st.lp xx hp elec, st.strong, cr.fierce is going to build you 160 meter on block which is .64 of a bar. The follow up combo on the ambiguous jumpin can be huge especially if you do something like short short ultra which leads to another ambiguous jumpin if they don’t die from back to back 400+ damage combos.

I mainly use hoarded supers with j.hk, st.mk, st.lp xx hp ball xx super, just something I practiced a lot at the start. Nice nine hitter. Either that or in hop, lp super for people who jump pointlessly or in mirror matches, where ex accumulates anyway.

Interesting blockstring. Any chance of maybe a blockstring section in the master guide at some stage, or would it be too char dependant and a waste of time?
I’d love to have a list of safe go-to blockstrings for building meter. :slight_smile:

Unplinkable 1 frame links are sort of a bad idea. In a punish situation j.hk, st.mp, cr.mk xx ball xx super or just straight cr.mk does more damage than adding a jab into the mix.

That block string isn’t safe, but at the range you’re at after the st.mp, most people hit slow buttons like fireballs, or something. It’s been super reliable for me. I don’t know about a blockstring section, a lot of what I do isn’t actually safe in that regard, it’s just character/spacing dependent and could get blown up because it’s not frame perfect. I’ll probably add it in at some point with some safeball stuff because they go together.

I actually prefer the st.lp link over the upback s.mp timing. The ub st.mp timing is a variable that fluctuates online. In training mode it’s easy, but when stuff moves… people walk back, forward, lag spike etc… I’m left holding upback too long and jump away like a tool. Each game seems different timing, and that fucks me up. Whereas I know the rhythm for the st.mk -> st.lp link, so it doesn’t matter if kaos kicks-in. Just a shitty byproduct of online playing I suppose; online play molds Blanka tech differently to high level offline play.
