I lucked out and found/bought an Alternators Mirage at an anime convention of all places. I’ve wanted him for so long, but never found one in stores.
Not as cool as getting MP Megatron, but someday he will be mine, oh yes…
I saw around 2 or 3 Alt Mirages in the downtown Toys R Us near where I work. And yet somehow they still don’t have Alt Rumble or Ravage. What is up with that.

On the bright side, I managed to get a hold of Browning as well as G1 Mirage and Sunstreaker. THey cost quite a bit, but a G1 Mirage in near-mint condition is so worth it.

I think Alt Rumble and Ravage are Wal-Mart exclusive.
Is Alt Ravage that rare? My local hobby shop has like three. Maybe I’ll pick one up next time.
MP Megs will be mine…later this month. Gotta wait for a paycheck. My girlfriend’s birthday is next week, and I keep telling her that I’m gonna give her MP Megatron. …She thinks I’m joking.
Guess it’s time to check the hobby store again, even though they charge wayyyy too much for alternators.
9999: Yea, all of them are off ebay. Browning might be a KO, but he looks real enough. And if he is a genuine Takara piece, so much the better.
Most reports I hear about Ravage/Rumble are that Wal-Mart’s are flooded with them, like 20-30 a store. As much as I hate Wal-Mart, I say drive around until you find one for retail.
Heh, the nearest Wal-Mart is a LONG way from here.
I guess Ravage can wait then. Back to obsessing over MP Megatron.

EXCELLENT score…the G1 Mirage mold has been permanently lost, so what you have in your hand is now a rarity. Take good care of it.

Ravage was totally worth the driving time, though. Rumble’s a nice homage, but I wish they’d made it possible to flip over the piledrivers into robot arms. :sad:

I wonder what TF will be next in the MP line. Soundwave would be awesome, but I fear that perhaps his design is too simple - the MP engineers seem to like constructing these fabulously complicated toys with authencity to the vehicle forms. Soundwave’s stereo might not be enough of a challenge for them…unless they make it a real audio player or something. And maybe throw in all the cassette bots too. That would be awesome.
While I was never a big fan of his character, an MP Astrotrain would be sick. I wonder if they’d try and find a way to include the scaling - no way you’d fit another MP inside, but perhaps some of the smaller toys. Astrotrain seems like a good choice for the MP line, and I’d even label him as most likely to be next. …Although, I don’t wanna think about the size/price of a properly scaling MP Astrotrain.
But then, considering that the last 2 MP’s have been Decepticons, I figure the next MP will probably be an Autobot. …Who? Personally, I would LOVE an MP Iron Hide, or Wheeljack. Since his vehicle mode is a Japanese patrol car, Prowl has a good shot too I think. They could go the Soundwave route with an MP Blaster. MP Rodimus Prime seems like a lock-in, I just wonder when - I’d rather have more S1-2 characters done first.
And then there’s always the possibility of a Thunderhonky/Skywarp/True Starscream repaint.
How about a real Ultra Magnus pack, complete with trailer/armor :lovin:
Naaaah. While it sounds like a nice idea, they’ve already done 1 Magnus, so let’s give an new bot a shot. I think that the Autobots have been already well-represented by their Alternators forms. You’ll just end up with a bigger Alt Smokescreen. How about a MP Blitzwing?

I’m in South Carolina, and the Wal-Mart here (well, the one I went to) got at least 12 of both Ravage and Rumble.

But for a new bot, Id say do one where the mold for the original/G1 has been lost. MP Grimlock would be SICK, but we just got a classics Grimlock, so I wouldnt hold my breath for that one. Maybe a MP Wheeljack or Sunstreaker? Or how about a MP GESTAULT :lovin:

I guess it kinda depends on what Takara wants to do with the Masterpiece series. I tried looking up some info online but didn’t find much about the MP series itself. It seems like they’re trying to create toys that are vehicle accurate but remain somewhat true to the robot mode. And be really friggin complicated in the process. Obviously, Shoji Kawamura gave preference to the vehicle mode over the robot mode for MP Starscream. I don’t have MP Megatron yet, so I don’t know what that manual says, but it seems like again they favored the gun mode a bit.
If that’s true, I’d put my money on MP Astrotrain. His robot mode isn’t too impressive, but the Japanese toy engineers could knock themselves out coming up with an accurate robot -> space shuttle -> train mode. Maybe MP Blitzwing. I think Soundwave’s alt mode is too simple, but I guess if they tried to find a way to include all four cassette bots then maybe they’d try to tackle it. I guess it depends on character popularity too - you can make the prettiest toy in the world, but it won’t sell if no one wants it.
I wonder when, or if, they’ll get around to the S3 characters. Since those designs are sci-fi based, they don’t have a true vehicle mode to try and be accurate to. At any rate, I want more S1 characters first.
