I believe the original soundwave mold didnt survive, so Hasbro decided to use Takaras sblaster mold which was reissued 1/2 yrs ago and just call it swave
In jpn, there was the orig Swave(singledoor), and then around the time of Headmasters, they added a thicker door ro the original mold and painted it black and released it as Soundblaster in japan.

Same for G1 Mirage…I think his OG mold is gone as well.

interesting. sux that the old molds were lost. i would think they can re-make them based on existing toys though, right??

What do you mean? His cassette door is supposed to open. There was a problem with the original Blaster’s eject button getting stuck though, if thats what you mean.

And Takara still has the mold for Soundwave, I think they just wanted to use the Soundblaster mold instead, even if it was just to hold both cassettes.

I know that it was supposed to open, but mine doesn’t open at all. I had assumed that all of the original Blasters had cassette doors that didn’t open.

Prime’s voice in those two Dr. Smoov vids is fucking amazing.

and the one where they grill Wheeljack is funny as hell.

I like the Shockwave one too, but the Wheeljack one is better.

I think Chris Latta (wheeljack/starscream et al) DID do Moe’s voice in the first few episodes…
