It looks OK from the front, however, the profile of the figure for the robot mode just looks unfinished in the rear. It’s not a dealbreaker but is something to mention.
Damn. Hasbro is just going all-out for my G1 money.
I know most G1 fans are usually all for Season 1/2 cast members, and the beginning of Season 3’s guys. But i’ve always had a particular fondness for some of the late line goodness too. Like the various Pretenders, headmasters, Targetmasters, and these interesting gimmick bots like the clones. I thought the clones would be deluxe figures though, not tiny Minibots/Legend size.
Edit: Wait, whats this about $100? These are cool but no way would they retail for $100.
There were some boxset of multiple figures in the TR line that were basically all repaints of existing figures with ONE of the Autobot clones or Decepticon clones included
like this one. It has Fastlane (Fastcrash) as the only new figure.
This set has the other Decepticon clone, Pounce, included among all the other repaints as the only new mold.
Those 2 big sets are $100 each and as of now are the only way to get the other clones.
If I can find this 2 pack for $20 , I’ll get it ,but I’m not buying those boxsets for just 2 small legends.
Wow. TR Trypticon might be the bot to make me break my rule on obnoxiously over-sized bots. Also when you stand him up perfectly straight, he comes a lot closer Metroplex’s height afterall (but still a tad shorter). Of course he looks best in his staggered, dino stance.
Man the amount of dust my transformers have gathered is ugh. Took me more than a day to really get in there and clean them up. Waiting on some figures to come in and that might be if for a while I’m out of space.
Yup. I LOVE TFs but always strive to have a more adult “optimized collection”. AKA: No side fluff.
As a TF fan, i have an appreciation for just about everything that gets released. Everything has it’s cool points. However, if i bought them all, i’d have figures stacked top-to-bottom in my whole apartment and it would just be obnoxious. So i try to limit it to those characters and their iterations i really like.
Example: I really, REALLY liked what they did with Titans Return Soundwave. But since i already have both Masterpeice and G1 Soundwave, which is about as good as it gets for that character, i can’t justify the $$ or space for the TR release.
Yea, I’ve been collecting Generations/Classics for 11 years and despite some cool updates, I cant afford to buy everything lol.
I rarely buy more than one “version” of a character unless the former version was really bad. (Universe Galvatron 2008) says hi)
I like buying figs mostly of G1 characters I never had as a kid (Which is a lot)
Exceptions
Optimus - I have MP-10 and the Classics 2006 mold
Megatron - I have the 2006 NERF Voyager and the Combiner Wars Leader(Which I use as a pseudo MP since its a relatively big figure)
Galvatron - Universe 2008 Galvatron broke on me and so I bough the recent TR Galvatron. While the head sucks, its a MASSIVE improvement over the previous iteration.
(Interestingly the head sculpt on the figure was great with a crappy body, and the new figure is the opposite case.)
I pretty much don’t have the same figures outside of Soundwave, Superion, and Bruticus and some masterpiece counterparts.
I will say this I loved the seeker mode and collected pretty much all of those from the original to the rainmakers repaints that came out a few years back.
Anyone know who this 3rd party bot is supposed to be? Made by DX9. I assume it’s their take on some character, like their TF releases, but don’t recognize it.
