I am on this kick of rounding out my collection. Classics and MP is all I am going for now. Outside of Prime, I am seriously considering letting some of the other lines go for the moment. However, there are always a few exceptions (TF Primeās Dreadwing and Skyquake)
MP Ironhide is en route. I ordered from HLJ and saved about $10. Even though some of these sites offer loyalty programs, the savings may still be better ordering straight from the east.

MP Hot Rod- Saying he looks bad is an overstatement, but probably fair to say itās a missed opportunity.
Really digging the car mode though.

So MP Ironhide came in, here are my thoughts -
Let me start by saying this thing is a wonderful cherry red. I wish that Road Rage had the same coloration that Ironhide does because it pops. Definitely some nice paint here.
Pros - Nice paint job; feels very sturdy (as in doesnāt feel like wafers *coughCWcough despite being all plastic. Its got a really solid transformation from vehicle to Robot that makes you appreciate what you just did. I rarely use instructions for transformation and this one was no exception. Itās got some mild complexity, but also very intuitive. The face change gimmick is nice as itās a friction joint that you can slide one plate in with the other.
Cons - The front chest (square up) just looks odd. Itās the best that could have been done considering the fact its a licensed vehicle, itās a necessary evil. The animation model made the glass square, which cant really be replicated here without additional parts. Also, the second face just doesnāt work for me.
I wouldnāt call it a con, but the side skirts on the hips are a part of the transformation. It didnāt bother me much when I first saw it, and I really donāt care now because of how great this thing is.
Despite my initial impressions, TakTomy is coming out swinging in 2016 with the new MPs. I just hope Hot Rod doesnāt change my mind.
Buy it if - You love G1, Love Official releases, love a good intuitive transformer, and need more ARN-HAWD in your collection
Donāt buy it if - You hate G1, are 3P all the way, minor concessions in a transformer make you want rage quit on you collection
If you are like me and assess a transformer from mode A, thru transformation, then Mode B, this is one of those that you appreciate as you are converting it. I literally smiled as I was moving things mid-conversion as I began to appreciate what TakTomy did with a figure that is practically an elongated hexagon. Iāve handled some of the 3P stuff and this one beats it hands down. A really solid release and happy to add it to my collection.

Nope, itās all inclusive. The sled is an accessory that you can put all of the additional stuff it comes with on it
(toy accurate rifle, pistols from TFTM, rockets and launcher from MTMTE Pt 2)

XTB (in my opinion) have the best designs if you are looking to have a fleshed out MP Shelf.
