Both versions are FAIL actually. Makes me so happy the glorious Fansproject Menasor exists because it hits all the keypoints so well, while this generations menasor’s combined form just looks stupid.
Sad thing is, i want to like it because the individiual stunticons bot/altmodes look great. I could see owning this just to have them individually posed and standing around combined fansproject menasor.
But on their own in combined form, generations mensor kinda sux.
G1 Trypticon Platinum Reissue
Some philipines sites have confirmed the release of a Trypticon reissue. Preoders have it for $200 (ouch)
G1 color scheme (Thank God) and electronic walking functionality is intact according to the “Batteries” and packaging

Mmc (mmc had great QC, but only decent designs, especially the upper bot legs and all limbs sharing most of their bot limbs and crotches sucked, seems to have been dealt with, so fuck yeah) defensor is looking so good. Tfc sucked, same for combiner wars. Mt looked good combined but individual bots lacked presence, mmc has hit the nail on it’s head. Possibly greatest combiner to date.
Lool, used to own g1 trypticon back in the 80’s as a kid. That thing ain’t worth shit, 50 bucks would be way too much for it, but giving it the tf logo means fools will flock in and buy it for 200. People are so stupid.

Anyone else had the G1 original back in the day and remember the box? I remember being suprised at how needlessly large that box was. This looks to be a similiar situation.

I do agree though, that its crazy overpriced! However, thats the market trying to cash-in on the reissue Goodness. Can’t say i blame them. G1 bots still rock, especially the citybots.
Quickslinger (Slingshot), Brake-neck (Wildrider), and Blackjack came in yesterday. I did not open Wildrider. I am waiting to decide if I want to get Motormaster or not. If it sits in the closet for more than a week I am gonna sell it. Blackjack is a pretty cool little guy actually.

In one of the FB groups, someone posted a pic of Motormaster asking if anyone needed it. For $32 shipped, I figured I’d take the plunge. With the exception of the Voyagers, the rest of the CW line are repaints/ retools of other figures. I think the wallet bleeding can stop now. Hasbro really did something fantastic with the combiner wars figures. Now time to get the other 4 figures.
Got Motormaster today. I am honestly debating whether or not to finish the team. Motormaster himself is awesome. It really sells the mold sooooooooo much better than what Optimus did. I honestly wish Hasbro just didn’t waste the R&D for Prime. Motormaster carries that brute form so well that I’d actually say its worth buying just for that alone.
Menasor has some engineering issues that irk me. The shoulders are created on a friction joint that doesn’t hold up all that well once you move the arm. The strength of the combined ratchet moved it out of place. The legs suffer from the same problem Primes has, which is that it seems to be off kilter. Also, depending on the arm used, the clearance of the shoulder to the attached limb is so close that it can run against the body. I tried this with Wildrider and had to open the arms away from the body so it would give the arm mode extra room. Love Motormaster and I intend to keep it as it is that good. However, coming from Superion, Menasor is a much weaker combiner.

Yeah its fucking bs, they showed some of the ugliest “art” for Megatron and some other but used good art for prime. They should have used the best art from Japan or some of that Dreamwave shit, this was not well put together at all. I could show you an animation still from dbz that uses the shittiest art ever used in the series or I can show you one of the best posters toriyama has ever made for dbz, THERE IS A HUGE FUCKING DIFFERENCE.
I got the war within series and Megatron origins on phones HDD, same for some avp comics. G1 might be worth dl too, the DW comics that is.

I’ve been reading my Humble TF Bundles and can hardly wait for them to do offer a third. I particularly liked the issues with time travel in the 2nd bundle. The specific Megs and Pax conversation was really worth while.

I was able to get Classics Optimus Prime recently; it’s nice, so no wonder this line is a pain in the wazoo to get a hold of, they probably sell out quick!
The Classics; Henkei; Universe; Generations (CHUG) lineup as a whole is still impressive to this day. It’s unfortunate that while Combiner Wars is a decent successor to that lineup, it’s overly simplified.
