Got lucky and found a MP Grimlock chillin at my local TRU. I had no intention of driving all over the place since I have the OG model already, but it was a pleasant surprise.

iirc… expecting $40 US. That’s $10 more than I would want to pay, but $10 less than what I would refuse to pay.

Sorry I’m late. BBTS and TFSource got them at roughly 55 a piece. That’s a little steep IMO.

Anybody break in and get MP-13B/SoundBlaster? I realized I’ve got a bunch of credit at Amazon and was thinking about getting it, but am interested in feedback. Plus or minus they’ve been doing a lot of second releases of MPs lately with stuff changed, so it seems the longer I wait the better off I am. :\

I can almost see this happening as a Season 1or 2 plot lol…
So, I got a hold of AoE Evasion Mode(the retro truck form) Optimus Prime, AoE Grimlock (Voyager Class I think, it’s nice), and Fall of Cybertron Generations Megatron(the stealth bomber form, modeled on the IRL B-2 long distance bomber, for those curious).

Been a while since I last got a TF figure, and the difference in quality since then can be summed up in 2 words.

I keep telling people that the AoE Evasion Prime is the truth. Once you transform it, you sit there and do it again, and again, and again. That figure had to have been planned for years. The paint apps are the only “real” downside to this figure. I don’t have the IDW Megs, but I do have Dreadwing (a recolor), it’s an awesome figure as well. I skipped out on FOC Grimlock cause MP Grimlock is the only version to own with that form IMO LOL.
Right?! I’ve been playing with it it on-and-off this whole day so far.
It’s simply fulfilling to turn the OG cab truck into the bot we all know and admire.

Also, you were dead-on about the “unfolding” aspect, this is exactly how a Transformer
should be in terms of the ‘difference’ in size and mass between forms.
I literally think to myself every time I shift him “How does this work?” It DOES look like
it’s something that would actually follow RL physics to a point, though, which just adds to the effect.
(Well, if it was a TF doing it, they tend to have subtle and brilliant justifications for how they do their thing, like liquid metal internal fluids, so they don’t just shift EXTERNALLY, so that can explain shrinking/expanding a bit between forms, they aren’t just shifting mass, they’re displacing it altogether!)
They did it so good even the TOY has you wondering when that tractor trailer just stood up out of nowhere.
