Of the of the “modern” Tf artists, I really liked Guido Guidi, Nick Roche, and Don Figueroa(before the ongoing w/Costa).
Modern being the year 2000 and after.
For the Marvel era, Geoff Senior and Andrew Wildman were my favorites.
So I have an unopened extra Generations FOC Skywarp if anyone in the thread wants it. I bought it because mine was having an issue with the bicep disc joint popping out. I “sanded” it down and got it to fit ok. I’m just looking for what I paid for it ($16 + shipping). PM me if interested
mechanical beings able to transform their bodies into vehicles, machinery and weapons; a last line of defense against the chaos bringer, Unicron! They are at war, heroic Autobot pitted against evil Decepticon, both on their homeworld, the metal planet called Cybertron, and here on our Earth. They are the galaxy’s last hope, they are-- TRANSFORMERS!
On May 8, 1984, Marvel Comics released the first issue in a 4 issue limited series based on an upcoming toyline from Hasbro.
This comic book preceded the Generation 1 television show by a few months as well as the toyline, making it the first official transformers product.
Happy "Thrilling 30th"Anniversary , Transformers!
Till all are one!
I don’t care how much you hate the movie figures. It’s got a fun transformation and its based off of the G1 Prime. I am somewhat surprised that they skipped the true movie deco for this, but we all know it was a paintjob that was coming anyway. It feels a lot “heavier” than one would expect. Also the way this thing unfolds is pretty awesome. The best example I could use is Lockdown from Animated.
To put it into perspective using the Classics Seeker mold:
Robot Mode
This stood out to me, a LOT.
Know why?
Because those two things are what makes a Transformer fit the theme of “Robots in Disguise”;
you *aren’t supposed to suspect * that that dingy-looking old truck is a very important big-name Cybertronian
until he’s in your face, and that’s the brilliance of it, IMO.
It’s been a while since I actually sat down with a figure and transformed it repeatedly. Yes, it cheats with the chest window, and it can be taxing the first few times. After you get it down, you feel GDLK going from one mode ot the other with ease.
Turning from a fairly conventional(at first, at least) diesel truck into a huge-ass mecha that is well over 25 feet tall, shortcuts are how that works lol.
As you said, “unfolding”; and Cybertronians are known for their use of Hammerspace LMFAO
On a side note, my money is prolly done(again) once I can get the movie toys, especially the Generations(? that or whatever the more high-end TF4 toys are under line-wise) ones, yo
Hound doe.
Looks like a Michael Bay film alright. Never really liked these movies, though I had some fun riffing one of them. Megatron spawn camping the Pyramid was a glorious sight.
