@King -
RobotKingdom has restocked ROTF Superion and the Appendage set:
sweet!
Nice! Me and my best friend here are like that. Heās run into some hard times recently, but weāve always watched out for each other, and Transformers are no exception. Especially during the Alternators era.
So I look to my Classics figures, I think its time for some 3rd Party Upgrades. If I can nail a City Commander set for less than a GDLK price I might consider it. Also, Iāve been eying that G3 Trailer as well, as it just completes Optimus.
Anyone got that Gear of War 2 set?
Should have my protector armor + sidearm this week. I slacked on getting it until some hi-res pics showed up and got a good chance to check it out. Even with rodimus coming he still looks pretty unique, and a good fit for the chug line so thatās cool.
Iāve been looking to get classics ultra magnus + city commander armor myself. Looks like all the viable online retailers are just sold out so Iāve been checking the trade/sell boards every once and awhile now to try and finds something. Iām NOT going to ebay for this figure. Iād rather not have it then pay the prices that itās going for on there.
Checking eBay is like telling your wallet to play with HandBanana . . . .
After a long debate, I finally bit the bullet and bought Alternity Convoy (Vibrant Red). I may pick up the Super Black version at a later time (TAX RETURN)
Peaughās review pushed me to finally get Protector. I had him on pre-order (just in case) but I cancelled it. Now Iām going to get himā¦I might just wait until Feb and hope he doesnāt sell out because with the United Tracks coming out at the same time, I donāt want to pump so much money into them right now with Rodimus MP at the end of this month.
Why do the United figures cost so much? Does the importing of these figures warrant that kind of price jump?
Itās probably the same situation as the Henkei toys; extra paint apps, extra chrome? ā¦plus a bit of consumerism/collector-ism of wanting to have the best looking version. If they didāt cost 4x U.S. retail to get ahold of, I would order more. But as of now, Iām eyeing 2 (Tracks/Wheeljack).
I got RTS Tracks, but the United Version looks more my speed, so I may have to grab it. The flame deco on the hood is the main reason. Now if I was a Jazz fan, Iād skip the RTS version. It looks ass compared to the United version
Exactly, about Tracks. The United version looks much better and more flashy, which is more in-line with the character. The RTS version of Jazz is easy to add paint to, but I like that pure white plastic look that the United version has. And Iām going to get United Wheeljack because heās a character that Iāve been waiting for them to make a deluxe of for years.
Only thing united I need is voyager megs since I missed the henkei version. Seems like bbts is out of them already but itās a general release toy so a restock is inevitable. I love my nerf gun megs but I think itās time to get a proper paint app on him.
I too, missed out on the henkei one. I just received my United voyager Megs, and the paint color scheme is awesome. More G1-inspired than the henkei release. On the downside, many will find the colors to be rather plain-looking.
It was a really tough decision, (transformers, serious biznizā¦) but I went with the slightly more wallet-friendly RTS Tracks instead of the United version. Iām a huge fan of the old G1 flame deco, so Iāll probably use rubbing alcohol to remove the rts tribal deco, make a flame design in photoshop, and print it out on sticker paper.
It snowed about 6 inches in parts of SC (I personally got about 5). On yesterday, when the freezing rain hit, the roads iced up hard so I was stuck in the house. I just had the urge to watch some G1. Episode of Choice; S01E07 - Fire in the Sky (it just made sense as it never snows in SC).
OAN - I also watched a few others (Plague of Insecticons and Fire on the Mountain). That was too much commercial for one day. Worst line of the day:
Setup - Starscream and Thundercracker enter a steel manufacturing yard. Thundercracker picks up a beam and easily bends it (showing that it is of poor quality).
Thundercracker - Nice Working with you Starscream. . . .
Brawn enters the plant
**Brawn - Working? More like stealing to me, and Iām talking steel
**
/facepalm
wah wah waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah
Yes, it made my brain cringe from the stupidity LOL
got my protector trailer and sidearm today! win!
got a good price on a loose classics magnus + city commander set so heās coming soon too!!
weeeeee 3rd party upgrades!!
Every now and then when I have company over they look at my shelves of robot stuff and ask me āwhich one is your favorite?ā. Such a tough question.
You take the good with the bad, right? LOL
Iām glad that the snow didnāt hit down here for once. It was raining ice here, and everything got shut downā¦luckily when we got that 5-6 inches here last year, it snowed on a Friday and was gone by Sunday.
I know what you mean. I have SEVERAL favorites, but I would have to say if I could only have one in my collection, I would have Alternators Silverstreak. Just the essence of an Autobot. Looks awesome in both modes, eye-catching, well designed, fun to transform (after a little practice).
Heās my favorite in my collection also, but for different reasons. Heās the first TF I ever bought as an adult
Had a friend ask me that recently too. He didnāt know too much about TFās but he liked the collection and asked āwhich one is worth the most and which one is your favorite?ā. I honestly couldnāt tell him value wise what would catch the most, cause I donāt know myself. But as far as like the most I pointed him to silverstreak, MP grimlock, and little $10 generations blurr.
Iāve read about a lot of people hating on generations blurr, but I dunno something about that toy just makes me go āthis is what a modern TF should be.ā IMO, heās fantastic.
