the one thing i wasn’t a fan of in TF Prime was that soundwave didn’t talk
and no one calls soundwave uncrazamatic

As do I, but I’m more into “does the figure look cool or not” factor. I’m sure any figure can have issues if you pick them apart enough, jazz and tracks may have their problems but they’re REALLY, REALLY NICE representations of their G1 counterparts. If I like how the character looks, can be posed, or even what types of guns they come with I tend to overlook the intricacies and just give a thumbs up, as I did with these guys cause they’re dope toys.
Fighter X: no, I’m deathly scared of those things after watching the preview vid of the wings destroying the reviewers G1 predaking :o
I know they supposedly sent out replacement kits that resolve the issue, but I like plain old predaking too much to really care.
I have not seen any of the RTS figures yet. I am a Tracks whore, so I must find him ASAP!
I like both of them. Did I somehow give off the vibe that I’m deeply disappointed with both and that I want my money back? Jazz is actually my favorite of the two. And he’s slowly becoming my favorite Classics-themed toy (right there with Jetfire and Mirage). Tracks is certainly nice enough for me to purchase and to display in my collection despite some of his issues. I’m just pointing out a few things I don’t like, notably the head and the bot mode height. It’s weird because the head actually screams Tracks. It’s dead-on. But I’m still pretty sure that he’s going to be an acquired taste much like Ironhide/Ratchet, Galvatron, and Octane from the 2.0 line. Some people flat out dislike this iteration for whatever reason. I don’t.
Hella late at discovering this but holy shit at G1 being back on television. I watched the first few eps of Prime and wasn’t very impressed. Having Welker and Cullen back is a major plus (especially Welker). The overall look of the show reminds me of Beast Wars, which is cool, but the kids are annoying and some of the character designs remind me too much of the live movies, that’s the biggest turn-off for me.
I’m just really curious whats going to happen if prime flops and it’s cancelled within a year like animated.
Will they just say f it and bank off of DOTM for the next year and a half, or will they ever get to the point where they greenlight a generation 3 project? I just don’t get how they continue to launch these shows that aren’t part of the “continuum” when a true G3 would get so many old and new fans to watch, buy the toys, games, etc. So much money to be made with a G3 with all the movies gaining all the new fans and such. I just don’t get it sometimes.
Hell, just make a show based off of War for Cybertron!
On Cybertron, no humans, big robots, ALL ACTION!
I have no problems with that either. All the models exist anyway.
Plus Prime isnt in “narrator voice” all the time.
I’d love to see that happen. Speaking of the game, does anyone else find it hard to get an online multiplayer game lately? I tried to get on deathmatch all this past weekend and it takes forever to find someone, then they get tired of waited for enough people, leave, and the cycle repeats. I haven’t played the game in a while, but damn, is it that dry already?
well considering you’ve had halo reach and black ops come out in the last few months, it leaves few players for a niche game like wfc. I played the game religiously on pc for over 3 months, and there was very few (or no) people left to play when I stopped playing. fucking conquest mode though man, I hope they really include a nice conquest in wfc2 because that’s the most fun I’ve had with any type of game in a very long time.
also stopped by a local marshalls on the way home and found 3 UNIVERSE HARDHEADS :3
I bought 2 of them for myself and a friend and left the third. can’t believe I finally found him though after passing on him over a year ago at walmart. promptly ordered the upgrades upon getting home, can’t wait til they’re in!!
LOL, might be. It’s been a while since i have visited Cybertron.

Just got the new reissue Predaking from BBTS. Didn’t open it and likely won’t. The box is really cool though, and from what i’ve seen of video reviews, its a winner. All the gold apps in place of the original Yellow look spiffy.
It’s really nice. The amount of die-cast on the thing too was way beyond my expectations. There’s huge chunks of it on some of the characters, yet the combined mode doesn’t suffer from any stress of weaknesses due to it. 100% happy with my purchase.
I never had any intent to leave mine in the box though. Fuck resale value, I’ve wanted this dude displayed in my collection for such a long time there’s no way I was gonna confine him to his box. I literally got back into collecting once the 1st reissue was skyrocketing, so I missed him by maybe a few month period. And from only having one of the predacons as a kid, I really wanted to play around with the other guys and the combined form. Such an awesome toy even after all these years!
Watched a few reviews of the headrobots hot head last night…thing looks so dope on hardhead. BBTS is actually out of them, but I managed to still get a couple from TFsource, $5 off total order too cause I bought a set of 2 for my friend and I. Win.
That Hothead figure is nice.
A few tips about it…
Removing Hardhead’s original head is easy, however, there are three screws in there, not one. Two of them are very small and require a very small screwdriver. One of my buddies missed them, thought his had been glued shut and snapped it apart as he removed it. Just pay extra attention.
Now, as for Hothead. Look inside the port before you place him on your figure. Clearing out any excess flash ahead of time will assist in getting a proper fit. There’s no problem with it, but I know from experience myself that occasionall a small outcropping of flash/plastic will prevent the new head from properly locking into place.
thanks for the heads up. I knew about the 3 screws, they mentioned them in one of the vids I watched so I’m good on that. didn’t know about the flash so I’ll check that out when I get the kits in. I’ll probably offer to do my friends for him too so he doesn’t have to read up on anything and can just enjoy the figure.
I don’t look for Transformers: Prime to last too long, especially with no toy line in the near future.
They’ve said they want it to run for about four years.
I am sure they wanted Animated to last for four years also. I don’t know how many markets “The Hub” is on, but that also limits accessibility on who see it.
BTW, Hasbro confirms TF: WFC, The Exodus novel, and Prime are all in the same continuity. Yeah, I am scratching my head right now on this one. Prime is kind of the weaker link to the story base. Now for the plot hole:
Starscream states that Dark Energon is of Legend but is around so much of it in WFC and even has a containment field for it ?
Megatron doesn’t know how to wield its power but that’s the first thing that he plays with in the game?
Could it be retconned, sure, but I would rather have it take elements from WFC instead of being part of the continuity. First thing I said when I saw the end of Pt. 3 was “Oh, this isn’t part of WFC Timeline”.
I got Cliffjumper, Skullgrin, and Thunderwing from HTS today. Skullgrin is outstanding. He’s a gorgeous mix of colors and detail capturing both elements of the original pretender shell and bot. Not a figure to be missed. If they did anything wrong, it is the exclusion of a purple faction symbol.
Cliffjumper is going to lose his head to Classics Cliffjumper because that’s an awesome thing do to and it doesn’t cost 300 bucks like the CJ upgrade kit.
Now, Thunderwing. I love the mold. This is why I’m SO dissapointed that the plastic was stress fractured in almost every spot on him. I moved a wing and ::Snap::. Horrible. He’s getting exchanged first chance I find him at retail.
