Honestly, I WANT a transformers thats not like the shit I grew up on. Have you actually sat back and watched them as a grown ass man? the shit was cool as a kid, but now? Yeah, exactly. So lets be REAL realistic about this for a moment.
Plot - we want to see robots fight, big robots - so the plot wil lbe developed so that the robots will fight each other. As the first of 3 planned movies - this one will be origin heavy read Xmen 1 and spiderman 1, and designed to setup more complex plots LATER, this wil lbe a simple introduction style plot, I donāt expect side switching, or anything. there will more than likely be an existing love intrest that is torn somehow or formed we see them holding hands. fine. I have no quarrels with any of this - as the original transformer storylines were āMegatron is getting energon, must stop him!ā. Only reason the TF movie rocked out was because the universe had already been āexplainedā - it wasnāt a stand alone movie that had to explain origins.
CG - we know it will rock out.
Acting - solid but nothing worth mentioning - no one watches porn to see the lighting. No one goes to an action or TF movie for acting, they go to see robots go BOOM
All in all it is what it is. they will insert small things from the OG show for us older folks, but Iām hoping they are going with a darker more brooding feel than the OG cartoon cause that shit is WEAK as an adult.

When the guy said, āThe only lead we have is this sound.ā That SHOULD have been the cue to use the classic transforming sound effect, or at least if youre gonna update the transforming sound update it to something that RESEMBLES the old effect.
Instead when he said The only lead we have is this sound the sound we heard was like some random sound effects left over from King Kong or something that was barely noticeable and didnt sound like anything in particular.
This trailer makes it look like the movie will be about humans, and their interactions with the robots. Instead of the TRUE spirit of Transformers, which is a show about robots, and to a lesser extent their interactions with humans.
Something about the designs just dont sit well with me. The robot forms of the Transformers dont look like robots to me, they look like aliens. I said this in another thread a while back, but the great thing about the original show is when someone went from vehicle form to robot form, you could still kinda tell what vehicle they transformed into. Because like with Bluestreak for example, you saw the car doors on his back that kind of looked like wings, and you saw the grill of the car on his chest. There was a distinct look to the robot form.
Now with these new designs the robot form looks as if it has no relation to the vehicle form, so its almost as if youre dealing with two separate things. The robot form looks so wire-ish an skeletal that it ceases to even look like a robot, at least a robot in the Transformers sense.
Now like I said before also, maybe these are the Cybertronian forms of the pre-More than Meets the Eye era, and well see something smoother as they adapt to Earth. But, given what Ive seen so far, assuming the people behind this film know that much of the original material to do anything like that would be giving them too much credit.
To the people who say stop whining, shut the fuck up. This is an Internet thread about the Transformers, what the fuck are you expecting total harmony and agreement on all things regarding a Michael Bay produced Tranformers film? Pull your head out of your ass, people complain in life and they complain on the Internet. Get used to it.
