I’d get Wal-Mart Screamer. Avoid the DVD Prime like the plague. He looks so cheap without his metal parts. If you get a Prime, get the Takara version.

…I just played with a friends TF Animated toys. Now I’m thinking about buying the Prime/Megatron 2 pack tomorrow with the DVD. Thoughts?

Eh. DVD 2-pack Prime and Megatron come with that stupid battle damage. I hear you can remove it if you’re careful. The individually packed ones are better. But if you’re only going to get a few figures from that line, I’d save up for Voyager Prime and Leader Megatron to be honest. The Dinobots are pretty sweet too. They’re all generally pretty good. But there have been complaints concerning the quality (i.e. loose joints and chipping paint). But some of those can be addressed with a little superglue.

Just bought the Wal-Mart Masterpiece Starscream + Coronation Pieces (all New/Unopened) via eBay. This is actually my first Transformers Toy related purchase since I was like, 8, or 9. Felt great. Can’t wait till it gets here.

It only means you’ll be buying more and more TF related crap. I started off with Movie Starscream last year when getting into collecting. See what Starscream does? He destroys entire lives and families. Girlfriends and mothers be warned.

And then I bought all the other MP toys, and so on, and so fourth. If t wasn’t so expensive, I wouldn’t care as much. =/

  1. So I went to target and picked up the DVD 2 pack. Prime was pretty cool, but Megatron’s right lower leg kept falling off. Not snapping off, just FALLING OFF. It was practically unusable. After finding out that the DVD was just the first 22 minutes of the pilot, I just returned the whole damn thing. Avoid this set like the plague. In exchange, I picked up voyager class Megatron. MUCH BETTER. I really like animated Megatron’s design, at least in robot form. It’s a nice homage to G1. My only complaint is that his cannon is way to damn big, to the point where it hangs off of his arm.

  2. Speaking of the pilot for TFA, I watched the whole pilot for that finally. It was pretty enjoyable. It’s kind of hard to get used to such a green Optimus, but I like animated Bumblebee, and animated Starscream is the best interpretation we’ve had since G1. I’ll definitely keep watching.

RE: Universe 2.0 Sunstreaker Prowl & Tankor

I found them back on Saturday.

The shelves had 4 of each figure. I was able to find one of each character that did not have horrible paint apps. Seriously it was ridiculous. Prowl was the worst offender with thin or sloppy paint all over.

All the same, once out of the package, they are all really, really nice toys. I may end up getting the Henkei versions of each of these. Prowl’s unpainted missile launchers look cheap and I have hope that the chrome on Octane will be on the tank.

Take your time with transforming that toy. While it is a great piece, it’s kinda’ fragile. That toy leagues ahead of the G1 stuff and far, far more complicated that your basic TF toy.
