The Takara MP Prime makes up for the shortcomings in detail of those versions. And it sucks, because MP Prime is fucking expensive whereas you can pick up either of those 20th Anny Primes (DVD or regular) for $50 or so. With an MP Prime, it’d be double that and that’s not including the damn trailer.

MP Prime gun is gray, too. I’d choose the MP Prime any day just because of packaging alone. Yeah, I’m a sucker for packaging. I paid $150 for mines when it first came out. It’s been like, 4 years since that came out. Time flies.

You can pick up a 20th Anny Prime for $50? WHERE exactly? There are a few 2004 versions on eBay, and they’re all going for $170 and up. There are only like 2 or 3 on there. The “DVD” version (I’m assuming that’s the one that got released later, in 2006/2007 whenever it was) is all over the place, and is much cheaper - but that version is way inferior IMO. All the chrome is gone, the color is fucked etc. The version I want is the 2004 with the BLACK gun, and that seems to be fairly rare, like I say I haven’t seen it for less than $160-$170.

The shorter smokestacks don’t really bother me. From what I can tell, the only difference between the Takara and the 2004 Hasbro is shorter stacks and the “battle damage.” I actually like the battle damage on the Hasbro version though, I think it adds more detail.

Well, I’m going by retail price at Walmart. They had DVD Prime for $50. This is disregarding inflated eBay prices.

It’s basically a Protoform Prime skeleton with armor you can add to it. Looks pretty cool. There’s a Bumblebee scheduled for release too.

This is a pretty sweet customized Ratchet. The green he used is a lot better and more accurate to the movie. Notice how he replaced the tires and wheels as well as adding repro labels.

Also, Botcon 2008 Exclusives. They’re just repaints, but I’m really digging that Cybertron Screamer in Jetfire colors.

Wait wait wait wait WAIT! I can’t believe I haven’t saw these, where does it say they’re custom?? They’re showcased at the Wonderfest from Takara, I believe those are Revoltechs. That Ultra Magnus is pure SEX! I want that soooooo badly!! It’ll look great with the other TF Revoltechs.

What a weird theme they’ve got going on. The Decepticon (starscream) is painted like an Autobot, and the Autobots are decorated like Decepticons.

SMB: Speaking of Omega Prime, does it actually transform into anything (when in Omega Prime mode)?

Omega Prime is the merger of RID Optimus Prime and Ultra Magnus, which IMO is one of the best TF Prime’s ever created (aside from the 20th Ann Prime, of course). I got mine @ Costco a few years back for my birthday as a 2-pack set for $32.00. Seperately they would have cost me around $60.00.

I bought the 20th Anny DVD version which has the short smokestacks, blue rifle, and ketchup color people are always talking about. The 20th Anny is slightly better because the gun is gray and red is more accurate to the cartoon, but it suffers from short smokestacks.

I bought the first US release of 20th Prime @ Target, short stacks and grey gun, they also had a variant black gun issue at the same time. I think mine was $90.00. I wanted the Japanese release but i couldn’t afford a $150.00 toy back then, I had a hard enough time paying rent.

Unless you happen across a Wal-Mart that hasn’t been retro-fitted for the new toys as of lately, you probably won’t find any now. Wal-Mart carried the re-issued “cheap” 20th Prime for around $50.00 but clearanced them out at like $15.00.

And I don’t mind the short stacks either. Also, the grey gun version was the rare one out of the original US releases. The black gun was more common.

I don’t care about more repaints but certainly do hope they bring back the Binaltech/Alternator line. It’s the best damn series they’ve created since G1. I still can’t believe hasbro cancelled it so they can push that shit-ass movie series. God, that stuff blows ass worse than any TF line.

Yeah, those figures are pure sex-plastic. I’d love to see a real Revoltech Ultra Magnus. I like how Starscream and Hot Rod turned out too. I don’t mind TF’s that don’t transform so that’s why the Revoltech line is so perfect for them. I love my Rev Megatron and Prime, I just don’t like the way they articulated Prime’s shoulders. It’s too limited. I hear the White version has the extra Revoltech shoulder joints.

I paid 200 for the prime with trailer. Probably the most expensive non-console toy I’ve ever paid for.

Another Transformer I love is Fortress Maximus. It was christmas, and I had a terrible stomach ache that made me want cry. But when I opened my present, I simply ignored the pain like a meditating monk and went nuts over that thing.

Hence the avatar for celebration. The Takara version is so much better than the Hasbro it’s not even funny. I had been looking for it for awhile, and I finally found one.

I think I’m gonna get an Energon Omega Supreme too. Originally I wanted Omega Sentinel, because I thought the color scheme flowed a little better. But looking back, I like the way Omega Supreme looks too. I have to get Supreme though, not Sentinel. I mean, it’s Omega Supreme. Omega Sentinel is just not the same character.

Or just buy them all. I hate choosing. :lovin:
