Transformers Thread

Non-animated, not different than the prequel comics, Cullen only does Prime’s/Narrator’s voice.

True, but you can always do the G1 mod like I did. Takes you a few minutes. Just unscrew, reverse legs and screw them in again. Took me 3 minutes.

He’s more a nod to Spychanger Prowl but he is blocky.

**SMB says: **

wtf? that’s sweet.

how’d you do that exactly? Unscrew which parts?

Here you go. Just remove two screws on each leg. One on the knee panel and one on the ankle. Swap the legs around. Replace the screws. This mod gives you full 90 degree knee movement.

Just won myself a very good condition Predaking.

Dangit… now I wish I had gotten Alt. Prowl when he was available.

Yea, I don’t know why more Alts aren’t like that.

I’m impressed with the HD-DVD version of the movie. Great Video/Audio quality, and some cool extras. An “H.U.D.” that has facts and video that pop up with what’s going on in the movie (it even talks about eating gator at the beginning when that one guy talks about it), and some downloadable features.

The first two downloadable features that are available now are a TF Tracker (shows info on each TF as they are introduced, and has a sidebar that shows their health and current status, i.e. “Weapons Engaged” as the movie plays) and a “Sector 7” clip, the first of 6. The S7 clip was kinda cool, it showed some parking garage security footage (black and white, divided into 4 sections with different pov’s), and it shows an old beetle drive up to a spot. You see it transform (only really see the legs) and step on another car and on the other pov you can see the shadow of G1 Bumblebee’s head. Not much, but it was cool to me. It lasted like 6 seconds, but it was awesome.

Welcome to the club. :lovin:

I might be the only one here who isn’t buying the TF Movie DVD.

I might be the only one here who is in the TF Movie DVD.

:wgrin:

When and where at?

I picked up the movie lat night at Wal-Mart and snagged the last 2 disc edition of it they had. While I was there I also picked up the 20th anniversary edition of the Transformers animated movie. Oddly enough my wife picked up the 2 disc special edition with the robot heroes in it at Best buy. I can’t return either because I got excited and opened up the one I bought in the car to look at it and she opened the one she bought and had Prime and Cliffjumper sitting on the entertainment center when I got home. So now I have 2 copies of the movie (one regular and one special edition) and the prequel.

However I hope that they eventually put this out on Blu ray because I am sure this looked amazing in High Def (of course that means I need an HD TV first). I never understood why they wouldn’t put this out on both HD-DVD and Blu ray.

‘Their War’ portion of the bonus disc. 3:17 and then 3:31 into it.

We cracked up laughing when we saw.

I don’t have an HD TV or surround sound to fully enjoy this movie on DVD. Oh wells.

I bought Gobots. This doesn’t mean I’m going to start hording them like my TF collection. Remember the brightly-colored car combiner Tonka released to compete with Menasor? Here he is. I had Puzzler as a kid, but lost the white police car, which prevented me from ever finishing him

Check out this side-by-side comparison.

So I plan on restoring this guy since I bought the figures loose and in different auctions. Even though the series was horrible, the toys were still pretty damn cool, and as mentioned above, sometimes superior to their TF counterpart. Hell, I’d pick up Cy-kill and Leader-1 to go along with Puzzler if I could. But I’d probably stop after that. I’m afraid I’d become the only guy in the world with a Gobot collection (lol).

I was also thinking if anyone was interested in doing some figure trading and selling on here.

For example, Taichi is selling me a RID Gigatron.

But say someone is looking for a movie figure and is willing to trade…

Just an idea. I’m just trying to maximize ways to get figures.

I had a few go-bots when I was a kid, I had Cy-Kill, Twin spin, Spoons, and the combiner that had a giant Jet and some power suits to form one big robot.

My parents told me they were transformers because they would take them out of the package and give them too me. It wasn’t until I went to fogler’s that I saw they were really go-bots. By then I didn’t care anymore though.

I might pick up a few go-bots here and there just for the heck of it now.

Aw shit, that’s cool. I’ll have to make that change tonite then , thanks. If I knew how to pos rep you, I would.

Satomi: how much did you score Preds for?

$119.50 with shipping. He’s great condition wise.

It’s so difficult to get him because sometimes there are parts missing, which are carried by other sellers at ridiculous prices. It ends up being more expensive trying to get each predacon individually.

Every loose auction I’ve seen the only thing was minor sticker wear. I hate G1 stickers anyway and will usually take them off because (a) they look tacky and (b) they’re put on retarded most of the time. I’m only okay with decals if they were put on correctly and don’t resemble shit (i.e. Alt Jazz, Wheeljack with G1 decals).

And is it just me or are all the autobot G1 combiners just meh. Superion’s pretty cool and I find Computron somewhat interesting, but the color schemes are never that good.

Predaking has sweet Halloween colors, Devastator’s green/purple scheme never gets old, and Menasor and Bruticus use a nice combination of darks. Can’t forget about Abominusand Piranacon either.

**from SMB: **

See, the only combiner I’ve ever owned was Devastator and Superion, and Sup’s is kind of ‘eh’. He’s too skinny and the stickers sucked. I bought a full set of Predacons when they first came out but my dad made me take them back, said I was too old to be buying toys.

And that’s a damn nice price you got him for too. How tall is he compared to the others combiners like him?

I found some of those cheap mexican knock-off combiners at Walgreen’s last weekend and bought Dev and Protectobot’s for my son, what pieces of shit. I know they’re KO’s but shit, my KO Dev I bought 7 years ago is built better than these. Fucking wheels are falling off almost as soon as he opened the package, arms disconnect and the large head for the Protectobots refused to stay in place. I got Bruticus for myself and two of them broke immediately. Even for $4.99 each, they’re pretty shitty.

sighs someday I’ll join your fucking Predaking club.

He’s pretty fucking big.

Size comparison with Devastator

Next combiner I get will either be Abominus or Piranacon

Has anybody ever sold a “fixed” Devastator head? His lean forward is SOOOOO annoying to me. Otherwise I love him.

And very much agreed that Autobots got shafted on the combiners.

Now this is what Hasbro could’ve done to give the Autobots a badass combiner.
