Transformers Thread

9999: here’s this one for starters. I might post a few more later.

Japanese Onslaught >>>>> all other combiner centerpieces, including the other Scramble City figures. That launcher mechanism is too cool.

Wreckage is such a cool toy/character. I was surprised that I was able to find him at the store. I reversed his blade weapons so that it looks like they come out from his elbows.

Niiiiiiiiice…I always loved the gestault giftpacks. Did you get it at a good price?

I know the day that I give up and order it from eBay, it’ll show up the next day in stores.

9999: The price was IMO a little high for the condition it was in. I paid around $450. Gestalt giftsets in very good condition are usually around that (I think), but the box on this one is very worn.

At first I simply wanted one of the JPN Onslaughts but ALL of the stores I visited were out of stock, so I settled on the Bruticus giftset. But at least I won’t have to muck around for the other Combaticons now.

Rampage? LOL Damn, son! What a well made whack job. That Ant was messed, also. Queen Megatron for the win!

  • Oh dear God. DS: I remember this! LOL

LOL

Wanna buy Abominus and King Poseidon?

Seriously, if I don’t have to lug them to BotCon…

(Too bad I’ve already wrapped them in bubblewrap, no pics.)

Nice buy on Bruticus.

Speaking of Gestalt Giftpacks…I can not WAIT until I can afford Predaking, because dammit if I’m not gonna buy the motherfucker as soon as I have the scratch to do it.

What’s that set going for now? When it came out it was in the $200-250 range; has it increased since?

yeah, it’s still around 200, 270 tops.

people LOVE Predaking.

it’s one of my grails…the others are Star Saber, and Star Convoy.

I know a lot of people here are dreading the Transformers movie, but I just read that you can unlock (via code from Target or something) Generation One characters in the upcoming TF Movie game.

You know, the reissue Star Convoy was pretty much overproduced. You can easily find him for under $60 if you look around online for a bit. I think his msrp was supposed to be around $90 US when he was released.

(I dunno, that was one my girlfriend bought for me at the time. :lovin: )

heh, cool.

yeah, apparently he IS overproduced, and I ain’t in the market at the moment anyway, because money’s tight, but I don’t think I’ll have much problem finding him when I do start looking.

So how much would a excellent condition G1 gestalt giftpack go for? I’m talking about no/very little box wear, foam intact, 100% etc. I remember seeing at conventions Defensor/Superion giftsets going for about $450. Is that about right?

I do think I paid too much for Bruticus, but some import stores are selling JPN Onslaughts at ridiculously inflated prices, and getting him plus the other combaticons piece by piece…I dunno.

Now if it’s true, that’s possibly the coolest game unlockable ever. Code from Target, though? I don’t understand that part.

I think they usually go for 400-500 bucks, depending on the condition. I wouldnt worry about your purchase, if I had the money Id probably buy it as well cause I just own Ruination, and theres nothing like the originals

Also, I need a Star Convoy still, wheres the cheapest place I can find one? Everything I see is about 80-90 bucks.

I would assume that whatever code it gives you will be available online a few hours after the game’s released.

Why would you expect to get one for less?

Hey guys, I got a chance to watch Transformers the Movie this weekend, and I must say… It was pretty bad ass.

I didnt know what to expect, and I had no idea how they would make it a movie. After the first half hour (which really sucked, and had me confused) the movie picked up steam and was good the rest of the way. I dont remember how long it was, but it was defintely longer than I expected (a good thing)

Anyway, im going to watch it again on July 4th, and going to pick up the DVD. The only thing that sucked was waiting for Megatron to switch to Gun Mode, and I dont remember him ever being a fighter jet, but besides that, two thumbs up.

At no point in time was Megs a fighter jet. When Megs was in his Galvatron mode, he was a stationary canon. Megs/Galvatron RODE in a fighter jet (Cyclonus?), but was never a fighter jet himself.

Also, Galvatron’s stationary canon form makes sooooooooooooo much more sense than Megatron’s handgun form.
