I also had Mainframe. I remember the day my dad came home with them and was excited. I remember trying to “squish” the main figure to make it transform. It’s amazing that they made those with more poseability in mind and now we have pretty much 1:1 representations with a full range of articulation. Seeing how far TFs have come is impressive.
Also, Tigatron is gonna be dropped off today. It’s amazing that the shipping from Japan to the US takes a literal three days. Meanwhile, MPM Ratchet was shipped out on the 26th and is scheduled for delivery on Oct. 6.
Got Tigatron out of the box. It’s good but my biggest concern is that it lacks any real hardware. It’s really a problem for the knees. I think Takara left the screw a bit loose. I’m thinking it could use a 1/4 turn.
Now the big question, is it just an oversized Cheetor -
I’d say the transformation to bot mode and their similarities are like transforming Sunstreaker and Sideswipe to get the same vehicle.
This is probably going to be the one time where I buy two. One for display in robot mode, the other for vehicle.
With the Kingdom stuff, the more I see it, the less inclined I am to get it. Primal looks good, but the MP figure pretty much does it all and it’s insanely accurate to the show model. I do have my sights set on The Ark. It’s in the background of the artwork below.
I’m contemplating getting rid of Siege Magnus and Cross-Hairs because, like ALL the fuggin’ Siege figures from d**k Hasbro, we’ll be getting BETTER Earthrise or Kingdom versions later on.
I dunno. Siege Magnus is pretty awesome & accurate in 2 out of 3 modes, and Crosshairs works for the most part too. Hrrrm.
There are rumors of a more traditional looking Ultra Magnus coming out next year.
Im sure it will be revealed next year during toy Fair or whatever event happens around mid February to show new figures.
The Studio Series has leaked figures of Hot Rod , Scourge and Kup. Kingdom has allegedly new Galvatron and Rodimus Prime figures.
Crosshairs being a niche character may take a while to get a new version.
I had G1 Crosshairs, but I didnt feel the SIEGE Ironhide/Ratchet van mold got me excited to get it.
