This thing looks badass but, for $500+? They can keep it.
Frankly I donât see why the complaints. People have spent more for less. I donât personally see the value of it, but I donât think the price is bad considering what it is. I admit, if things was done to be more of a G1 (MP) take, Iâd have backed it
Besides the price, you know my thoughts on massive figures. Again, these damn things are meant to be figures and not gimormous statues. And i thought G1 Fort Max was a pain in the ass to ownâŚ
This Unicron will not be able to sit on 90% of collector shelves or cases out there, he wonât be able to fit in 90% of collector storage bin solutions, etc. To put him away youâd basically have to stick him standing up in a closet with a garbage bag over him to protect from dust. Sad.
And again, we already had a damn good Unicron figure mold to draw from. Just release a spiffy, even more G1 accurate version of that, with revised paint schemes and what not. Perhaps slight remolding.
I think youâre missing the point. This is designed for the collector that wants it. There is no other way that this would be a thing.
Armada Unicron is an OK figure by todayâs standards. I can see why they decided to start over.
If anything, the alt mode is vastly superior to the Armada version.
EDIT - Figure King just put a photo out showing the difference. Putting them side to side is nuts.
^^ Yeah i see them taking an Excellent, existing, appropriately sized figure. Then putting it next to a needless monstrosity.
Edit: It is funny looking though. Like the Existing Unicron ate a Super Mario Mushroom. Or this new Unicron is at a family photo shoot with his son. lol.
Armada Unicron is a decent figure but this new one slaughters it In everyway. The size aspect is par for the course.

Only if a 3rd party company cloned it, and shrank it by 47%, or whatever percentage Armada Unicron is. That would be a good buy.
I just checked around my apartment and i have some pretty good sized shelves and several closets with shelving. Aside from the Floor itself, there is only (1) spot this Unicron could fit on.
Edit: Ok (2) spots, if you count the top of my refrigerator. That can sorta be considered a âshelfâ.

So around this time every year I do a deep clean of my shelves and work in my new arrivals.
First off is Siege Jetfire I didnât expect him to be that big so some size comparisons. First pic is next to his Henkei counterpart and the second next to Masterpiece Star Saber.

Seeing it next to MP Star Saber put things into perspective. Itâs a figure that Iâd like to buy but Siege is a rabbit hole I am doing my best trying to stay out of. Right now itâs all about MPs. Iâve actually tried to offload most of my Classics Decepticons.
Speaking of MPs, MP 44 is due out at the end of the month, Canât wait till I get it in hand.

Even mine had them lol
SW is $50.

That is ultimate nostalgia fleecing. Itâs crazy because MP Soumdwave with all the tapes is around 170 (if you can find the Hasbro Asia release).

SW is kinda tolerable for me. The 2007 TRU SW which I have was $50.
The tapes IMO should have been $15 at max. IF they were $7 back in the day, inflation calculator puts it at $15 today. The fact that a SIEGE deluxe figure that is 5 inches and has better articulation /sculpting is the same price is pushing it.
Im a sucker bc I bought the Frenzy/Laserbeak set. I made a vow to not really buy any more G1 Reissues because my collection has been 90% CHUG and Im planning to stop in the next year or so.
My G1 reissues include : Insecticons, Predacons (only $50 yay), and SW.
I have the TR Rumble figure (legend) but was waiting for a repaint into blue guy but was dismayed when it was announced that it would be in a boxset/Target exclusive release of TR SOundwave with blue TR ravage, and another cassette that I had no interest in buying. I want to get the rumble/ravage set and that will be it for my G1 dalliance.
Only reissue I grabbed was Prime. I got it for $25 new. Beyond that, the MP line scratches the G1 itch.

Even though my first exposure to them was the G1 show, these last decade has cemented the original toy name.
Plus itâs easier to remember red -rumble now for me lol
