I knew that rumor was stupid the moment i heard it.
“oh yeah, the lead actress is dating statham! That means he’s going to be in the next movie! OMG”
What kinda dumb complaint/question is this? A huge percentage of the TF universe involves earth, so its no surprise that they’d think up ways to have it keep happening in the movie universe too.

Furthermore, its a big budget hollywood movie series with (non-voice)actors cast. Where the hell else would it take place?

Maybe they could pull a star trek and have the plot occur on some alien world with coincidentally humanoid characters, but eh, seems like it would have its own set of issues and little overall improvement for the nitpickers. Might as well just keep it on earth where the majority of the Transformers universe is set anyway…
Of course theres also the option of having it just take place on Cybertron, a Transformers-only movie. While the fanboys like myself would certainly enjoy that, its understandable that hollywood wouldn’t be thrilled about that idea. Not going to happen.
Its a Top-tier action movie that delivers the goods for its entire running time, and a respectable movie for fans as well. I hope it continues to destroy at the box office.
Its gonna be tricky once Harry Potter comes out next week. Its just crazy that this movie made its money back within that span of the 4th july week/ weekend.
At the end of the day people don’t know what the fuck they want, this is especially true with fanboys of any franchise.

didn’t the decepticons win in the end anyways? I mean sure they killed sentinel and megatron, but there’s still thousands of decepticons on the planet that have taken control of major cities around the world.
also why didn’t megatron kill that bitch and why didn’t sam die? Seriously Shia and the girlfriend were the worst parts of the movie. I hope they get killed off.
Also I highly doubt those that those with complaints about this movie were those that were excited about mention of Statham. More than likely the same caliber of movie goer that actually enjoyed this film are the same ones that were excited by Statham’s name.
Not all the fanboys dwell on the negatives like fools though. I’m a lifelong G1 fan since the 80’s, and can look at things in a more positive light. If the majority of the movie turned out well, i can let its flaws slide. I guess i’m the very understanding type though.
For example as a fan, it pisses me off how the humans are able to fight back against the decepticons AT ALL in these movies. Most of the time in the transformers universe they can’t do jack and rightfully so, the Decepticons being these super-advanced alien machines, with tech far above anything the humans have.
However, gotta remember its a hollywood movie. The humans & actors have to have their time to shine, and show that they can do stuff too. Ok fine, its understandable and I’m just thankful it does not happen excessively.
Totally with you on that. Had a mega-nerdgasm at the start of the movie. I just wished they added a little color to the robots, but still it was the best 3D sequence in the movie IMO.

Like you’ve all said, this train is going to slow to a crawl once HP comes out.
But can you really say they fought them successfully. I mean in all these movies they had a hard time fighting them and it certainly wasn’t a walk in the park. I remember in the first movie when they fought scorponok in the desert, they figured out after the fight that a special type of ammo( I think it was sabo rounds or something like that), was effective against them.
I actually bought NEST fighting the decepticons in the third movie cause it seemed logical and was executed perfectly.
I know it probably sounds kind of dumb but I’ve sort always wanted a game where you play a soldier like the NEST team takin on the Transformers. I think it would be really cool.
My fanboy ways can’t help but call BS on it to a good degree though. Again i’m just thankful humans aren’t pwning TFers left & right.
Humans were on the ropes for the majority of the movie, and weren’t able to mount a resistance at the end until the Autobots showed up. Which is the way it should be.
Good deal overall, so i can let those other scenes slide. Unlike my fellow TF fans who froth at the mouth when things like that happen, and seem unable to make this compromise.

The DOTM game looks like it has potential to be decent and fun. Levels like that playing as humans would make my inner fanboy rage too much though, and boycott the game.
