I just found out her standing MK isn’t cancelable anymore.

s.MK will most likely be one hit confirmable into sweep target combo so if it is it wont be necessary to cancel it. c.MP will be better for cancelling purposes.

Air glide will still have its uses. Not going to be amazing, but just having it is good enough to catch more air mobility than other characters.

Kunai with height restriction was something I saw coming. Her ground game will be strong enough and she has a grounded kunai game now which definitely opens up ranged options she never had before. Just have to be careful because the kunais still get nullified by projectiles.

The speed on c.MP and c.HP look really good. They should both have more utility than in the past due to that.

we didnt see her crush counter combo button yet, i dont think that after blocked dp you will be forced to go f+hk.

Air glide is totally useless. So far I’m not really impressed with her changes, her losses are more severe than her gains.

My only last question I have then: is there any special or can her CA punish fireballs? I need to be able to punish on reaction like the U2 in USF4 where it had fireball invincibility. It did go under laura’s fireball, but was not fast enough to punish.

Also, B.MP/cr.hp goto anti-air normal, yay.

When you’re cornered, you can jump and use air glide and instead of people mindlessly hitting you they have to watch for a potential kunai that you may or may not do allowing you to escape the corner for no/little punishment. They also have to then watch for you not air dashing and just jumping over them, or flat out doing a jump in on them normally which can lead to you throwing them into the corner.

CA goes through fireballs but its range is kinda ass.

If Ibuki is not better than Vega, I don’t think I can main her this time around. I would feel like a right fucking idiot dropping a character that already has problems for a character that has more problems. I know she was only mid tier in 3S and had problems in that game too, but that was my bae.

I think SF3 Ibuki is dead and gone :frowning:

for all her losses, bomb can allow ridiculous comebacks imo.

She actually plays a lot like 3S Ibuki to me because her walk speed is much better than IV and she can still bully with similar normals. That was the main thing that was going to get me into using her. She can walk comparably to what she did in 3S and is more just about hitting buttons and pressuring.

If her frame trap game is strong she’ll probably have counter hit combos that open up like Karin as well. I’m all in with this Ibuki especially with the new kunai options that let her finally use the kunais as a zoning tool. Especially in matchups where the opponent doesn’t have a projectile.

Thats the one thing i don’t like about capcom balancing. ok lets take out hien since its completely useless, then give her a air glide giving something new to the character, later they be like is too good and fun lets make it very situational that barely has any uses. Things like these makes the game too linear which it is for some people, takes away how creative you can be in this game.

Of course we haven’t touch the character so its too early too says these things. I dislike design choices that make the character/game less enjoyable or appealing for everyone.

Aside from that i’m liking what im seeing with ibuki especially that walkspeed.

She’s still one of the most open ended characters in the game regardless. 3 different command dashes that go at different angles. Tons of ways to throw kunais, lots of target combos, a V Trigger that will set up all kinds of shenanigans, she’s for the people that want more anime and stuff going on for sure.

Apparently it has been confirmed that she no longer has a super jump or jump cancels.

Yeah i’m seeing that as well hit confirming and how to use her Kunai its going to be very important for ibuki players. Ex kunai has insane amount blockstun so i totally could see her frame trap or shimmy their opponent.

This character is dope as fuck. I’ve been playing Laura, Karin, Necalli, and Mika but I’m definitely setting them aside for Ibuki.
