The best part was when you were getting out of my car and saying goodbye to Ryan, who you thought was in the back seat, but actually had been dropped off 20 minutes earlier.
rofl.
Looks like those headsets worked out, I can hear all the commentary clearly.
Im a little dissapointed that Jared didnt say some wild shit while doing the drunk commentating
I can’t believe that was the same person that was puking out my car window at 60mph on northbound I-5… In the rain.
Return of the Jedi
what!?
I just got done watching the videos for the Tekken 6 tournament @ TW and I VERY ANGRY that the matches were just one round.
In Tekken it is almost a prerequisite to have tournament play 2-3 in order to feel out your opponent.
Again…I’m hella disappointed in the outcome of the Tekken 6 tournament for this season on TW.
I’m not mad at who won, I just think it is NOT fair to those who lost with out having a chance to adjust to the strategies being used.
!!!
Are you talking about the team battle SJoe?? or the Singles tournament before TW? Cuz it is commonplace for team tournaments to play one match, usually cause of time constraints.
cry more.
Same can be said about SF4, but you gotta play with the cards you’re dealt.
EDIT: Shouldn’t you at least be happy Frank added it in? I mean honestly, he could have just not taken up Tekken at all.
I’m sure if more people bring this up to Frank, he’ll consider it for Round 2 of TW’s. I personally have no problem with it, since the Tekken matches were lighting fast anyways, and it’s fun to watch something where you have no idea what’s going on mostly.
@ Super Joe:
Yes I messed up on that. I didn’t get the time to clock a mock TW’s match for tekken (was supposed to happen @ Pat’s remember?), also robe and co. Did do one but forgot to tell me how fast it would be. This was my own fault, and I do appologize.
For season 2, SFIV and T6 will be 2 out of 3 games, with some new rules for OCV’s, and leadoff rules. I guess you missed my post on TZ about that. Sadly it’s too late to change since it’s already started.
In short it should help those get ready for SS and the national tournament, because it’s going to force players to adapt quicker (as I did in my first game). The tekken kids are just gonna have to run with it for now…maybe I’ll make the playoffs 2 out of 3 for tekken. But for now the main season will stay at one game for time reasons.
I’m glad people are enjoying the matches that don’t play tekken. If you are interested in trying to learn the game we have A LOT of players willing to help you get your feet wet. From super joe, kkf, myself, mandel, paris etc. Etc. That’s the main reason why it was put in as a mid season game, to attempt to pull in more sfiv people. And to make a bridge between the 2 games (especially with SSFIV on the horizon).
Remember folks 2 week break, next games will be dec. 5th, and the fight card is FULL of great matches from TDP, stretch armstrong, focus cancelious, team fight bros (all with double headers).
And you get to see 2 of the best tekken players (EBM, and nganfiction) duke it out before they head down to Cali for the National invitational. For those that don’t know:
EBM, nganfiction, and super joe qualified at PAX to take part in the US “Best of the Best” national tournament, where they will be competing for some big cash prizes, as well as for a spot on the US team to play in the world “best of the best” tournament! So come check it out on Dec. 5th, and wish those guys luck as they represent Seattle.
We’ll also be running another singles tourney (hopefully one for Tekken and SF4 this time around) with casuals after where I am sure some of the people who have been in the scene for a while on either game will certainly be willing to help people learn.
Good news. Good to see everyone is open to change. One thing, though…2/3 for SFIV? That is going to take a long time to complete. If it works, great. But dayum.
SFIV (or SSFIV) will be 2v2 instead of 3v3 next season. Maybe even 2 out of 3 rounds instead of 3 out of 5.
mickey d says he’s going to teach me guile, hopefully he will come out with a video tutorial or something
Guile’s too simple to need a video tutorial. Get ready to completely out think your opponent to win since you can’t do any real damage. He’s really fun though. I love Guile.
rob played against my bob in the TW singles tournament, so he had ample time to formulate a strategy.
@frank yeah I know that it will change in the next season =). I think 2v2 is the way to go for BOTH SFIV and Tekken 6 just to spread out the time. Maybe start 30mins to an hour early next season as well? Also, that Tekken Nationals tournament is December 12th y’all, NOT December 5th! And the prizes are HELLA good!
Also, this is a GREAT opportunity to plug TW, SV, and STekken while the 3 of us are down there. Other than the word of mouth shit, I highly suggest some of the money from TW be used to make us promo TW t-shirts to wear down in Cali.
@Dustin ya know it takes Rob 4582729 years to adjust to a new character. I just wanted the format to be as fair as possible.
