Keep in mind Carlos, that there’s a week break this week, and another 2 week break in november. I mean I would’ve liked to have just straight shot it through, but there’s Nor Cal Regionals the weekend of the 21st (which your whole team is going to as well as maybe 2/3rd’s of my team and maybe 2/3rds of Team Wolfpack). And then the following weekend is Thanksgiving weekend, so even more people will be out of town, or have ppl from out of town in for that weekend.
To save myself stress from trying to switch everyone around and reschedule for make up games, I just decided on not having them during those weekends. Plus I’m looking out for Fae and Josh too, I’m sure they don’t want to work late on Halloween (Josh already posted about that). And I know they don’t want to work late the week of Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve.
And as mentioned by Mickey, TDP is on a 42 day break. It’s just how things panned out. You mainly have the break because of the switch on Halloween, and the schedule change for Starvengers vs Team Jurassic. With 2 days down the line where I have a fight card for all 8 matches one week, then 10 maybe 12 matches in the final week. I’m trying to fine tune and make sure that the event is running smooth when I get to those challenges, and I didn’t want to test out an 8 man match on Nov. 7th.
As people mentioned, use the time to scope out other teams. You guys are in 2nd place for your division, I’d focus on trying to take down the Grandmasters for now.
That just goes to show we need a tournament soon. SF4 and T6 where they at?!
edit: I’m off every Saturday and Sunday so if I talk to Chris at gameclucks and get a T6 and Sf4 tournament one of these Saturdays or Sundays I would like a large attendance. I mean Brent put his name on the line for Tourneyplay and we got a weak ass showing which I didn’t appreciate. If we could get hella people to show up to a T6/SF4 tournament that would really help us save our scene since we don’t have anything going on other than TW.
Sunday’s are a no bueno for me.
Maybe I can talk with Ian or Josh, or Jacob, and set something up so we can run a singles tournament on a Friday next month?
The key here is setups, honestly if I were to run a singles tournament at TW’s I’d want 5 setups total. Just so that the touranment can be finished as fast as possible. Sadly, I don’t have 5 XBOX 360’s, or 5 monitor’s/TV’s…
I’ll volunteer my monitor. Our off weeks for me are a blessing since I’ll be having massive amounts of reading and assignments. But yea, If you need a monitor, hit me up.

As much as I would love to have the best bartender I’ve ever seen, saturday’s are only for teams. And I honestly feel that we couldn’t get singles finished if we tried to do both. Maybe for season 2 teams one week, singles next week (although I ultimately would really love to try to run singles on one day (Friday) and teams on the other (Saturday).
well she shouldnt be able to work firday nights cuz then shes have WAAAAAAAY too much OT. since 40+hours/week, 8+hours/day, and 6+days in a week all give OT. since she works tuesday-thurs, then sat and sun, shed have to work tuesday to sunday with like 12 hours of OT and 1 day off

Like Frank said, lets just bring another set up. That is what the other room is for. Honestly, i dont feel the second set up should be set up UNTIL the tourney matches are done. Cause I believe frank still wants everyone focused on the matches and not on the other side screaming about money matches.
So, I or anyone else can bring another set up and we will just wait to set it up after the tourney. Main screen for casuals, other side for money matches. Everyone happy =D

Although I agree that we need to be running the same version as Evo, the TW structure might present problems for some people when SSFIV is released. Consider that, once again, people will be paying ~$35 to enter and are then locked into their character for the whole season. Who will be wanting to pick a character they’ve never played before for TW? Yes, each character is going to have some changes, but for the most part the overall gameplay of a person’s main won’t be changing much. The new characters, though, will have a much steeper learning curve, so people might tend to be less likely to pick them.
As whichever version we run will obviously be a pre-cursor to Evo 2010, I think it would be a good idea to structure next season to end right before Evo (within a week or two), and delay starting the season until people have a chance to at least get a feel for the new characters. I think we’ll see a much wider variety of characters for Season 2 if we do this.
I would like to participate in both, but if that were the setup, I couldn’t spare that much of my time to participate. 2 back to back nights a week is a bit to strong.
i just bought a 23 in lcd monitor with hdmi, so i can bring that anytime u need it.
Yea, if season 2 starts up right after SSFIV gets released, no one is going to go for any of the new characters because they wouldn’t be comfortable with them yet.

Depending on who they add, how those newly added characters play, and if I find any of the rebalanced existing cast fun, I would most likely have a new character for TW season 2.
Although I am still forever Chun devoted.
